Wow just found this...could save $$$

edited July 2011 in Pregnant
So I usually spend n waste so much money n food. I was on yahoo n it had recipes to do with rameen noodles... so somehow that lead me to a site called budget101.com. it has like all these ideas n meals for under $2.50. Whole bunch of recipes , tips n trick even some coupons n freebies. So just thought I'd share I'm still looking through it. I'm sorta amazed like how cheap things can be. Esp with planning which I'm not good at m always forget coupons.

  • This site is wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing! >:D<
  • Woo, great help
  • Yea as im looking it says u can feed a family of 4 for under $250 a month ...I find that Soooo hard to believe. B I probably spend almost that a week. But that would be great ;-) just keep finding new ideas. Of course when I go shopping my mind will go blank even with a list ...n ill just start piling in everything everyone likes.

    To everyone: what do u all spend on average a week for ur grocery stuff?
  • Hmmm... I have no idea. I just go pick stuff up when I need it. I am certain this is not the best strategy.
  • I cant wait to check out this site. My fiancee and I are getting married next year so the more I save now the better :)
    @urmomwasright we spend about $450 a month
  • Eh its just me and my bf and we spend around 120 for two weeks when I budget well and keep count when shopping but otherwise its like 250 for two weeks that's usually when he comes along lol

    Thanks for input ..I know i spend way too much. I so want to change that.
    Thanks for adding how many your feeding/shopping for too :)
    like I have a family of 5 now , once baby comes with formula and all it would be much more.
    Plus hubby usually eats like way more and my 2 year old way less...you know? Does anyone shop like the wholesale/big box stores like Costco , Bjs or Sams? I've been doing some but I think as family grows n gets older it will defintly be the way to go for certain things.
    Sorry to drag this out.
    I like shop all week and at every store to get different things and deals but need a better plan, like I get certain things at Giant, then go to Mars, Food Lion, Save A Lot, Aldi, Walmart, Box n Save, Costco, Dollar tree etc etc... every store stop is between $30-$70 and it adds up soooo quick.
    Thanks again....Im not trying to be like a coupon person or whatever just smarter and plan better. But again my fault to it so hard to plan meals with a house full of "grazers".
  • I spend $150 a week but I take lunch to work every day
  • I seen a recipe on there for making your own baby formula...I would never trust that I don't think
