Random thought.... WHAT IF a mother has an "unattractive" baby/child. Do u think they know or is there just something about being that child's mom that makes the mom not realize??

    Lol. Omg, I always freak about this! You will think your bby is cute no matter what, but u'll know by what other ppl say. I was told by multiple women, that if u see a ugly bby(as if ;) ) then you say the bby is "precious" and not cute or other words lol

    Lol...i told all my friends to tell me if my son is ugly. But i really don't think a mother will ever call their own child ugly. But have to admit there are some ugly ones lol

    No actually this will be my first child and yes the question was serious with a slight undertone of humor. And im going to assume if my child isn't attractive that I would know so BUT I can't say that confidently because he isn't here yet.

    lolol I know I've used the "ooohhh he's got some pretty hair!" or "awww look at theemm" but I can't come to calling them ugly out loud. It feels so wrong lolol so I substitute. I hope my baby's a cutie but if he aint its still love

    I think they would be in denial, I have a friend whose little girl looks like a boy, I think she knows cuz people ask her all the time but she is in denial and only dresses her in pink and hair bows. I'm a ftm so I don't know what my kid will look like until he or she is born but I think my sister would deff tell me if my baby is ugly she has no filter. Lol :(

    I personally think they all look alittle rough in the beginning after the trauma of birth but in a few months when their features come out you definately can see what's up BUT some kids grow out of that awkwardness so there's always hope

    @k_baBix0 I've never met any ugly babies because there is none. And I think it a little messed up if you think any kids are ugly.... just wondering... how would you feel if someone told you your baby was "Beautiful" and then behind your back told everyone your child is ugly? It might not bother you right now because it cant happen yet but I bet it will once your baby is here.

    My little boy wasnt an ugly newborn but for sure was kinda doofy looking. He had the wizened old man thing going. But I think just about all newborns are kinda funky looking so. . .

    Nope! Because when i see a ugly grown person i say it. So a baby can be ugly when they get older they can grow out of it or be ugly forever lol. But to each its own if u think ur beautiful ur beautiful ^:)^

    I see your perspective, however I will firmly disagree with it in regards to myself. I have seen children that aren't cute to me yet I would never go to their parent or them and say "Oh youre just so ugly..." But everyone is different and that's the beauty of opinions, it keeps dialogue more interesting. As far as someone telling me my baby is beautiful but thinking he's not, I call that a draw. I can't persecute someone for their opinion, he's my baby and no one could love him like I do whether he's fiercely handsome or the complete opposite.

    @mama_underpants - Would you call them ugly?? It depends on how you word your sentence. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but you shouldnt always say it outloud. It could hurt feelings.

    @MissPrego nobody said you'd go up to the child or mother and say "hey guess what, you got a ugly baby" that's not the question. So no, I wldnt. And if I did think the baby was, id say your baby was "precious".

    I dont think anyone would say HEY YOUR BABY IS UGLY but I can tell when they're talking around the subject instead of outwardly commenting by saying how cute the baby is and blah blah blah. But hey everyone is different n I dont fake the funk. If the baby or child is not cute to me, you would never hear me make a misleading sentence. I'd rather keep my mouth shut.
