theres an old spanish wives tale about not washing ur hair for 40 days after giving birth but I just wanted to see who has n was fine because my mom didnt wait n she got extremely bad headaches!

I washed my hair at the hospital as soon as i was able to take a shower... and i was perfectly fine afterwards

Umm... that's gross. I washed my hair daily after giving birth to both my babies and I'm totally fine, never had any problems.

i washed mine about 2 days after having my son..but the most i can go is 4 days..idk how soon or how long ill wait to wash this time

Wash your hair lady it will make you feel so much better! If you are breaking out wash your pillow case too. I haven't heard this wives tale before but I think its just that a "wives tale". I washed my hair shortly after and I am good too

I washed mine a few hours after I had my daughter and I didn't have any side effects. I can't even go 24 hrs without washing mine though, it'd be a total grease fest.

You know how much dirt and grease will build up. That's really gross.lol and all tangled. And a HOT MESS! Please wash your hair. I think it was just a coincidence for her.

I washed my hair the next day after my c section and pretty much every day for the past 9 wks since the.birth and I've gotten a couple of headaches that some Tylenol helped. So just wash your hair and you'll be fine

I think this is like a religious thing? Ive heard of it but I don't think it has anything to do with health or healing process.

LOL! Sounds like all the crazy things my grandma tells me! From my first pregnancy she wouldn't let me go to the beach- bc she said it would take my baby's sould, she wouldn't let me cut my hair-bc she said my son would be born blind (so my hair was super long when I gave birth!), she means no harm but I secretly don't believe in any of it, but she can't know that! That would break her heart!

My grandma says that too lol.. along with wear sweatpants and socks cover your head, basically all covered up for 40 days or you'll have a stroke or something lol.. I didn't have a stroke btw lol

My parents says 30days but I washed my hair the night I came home from the hospital with my first born 5 yrs ago. Im fine. Oh, I can't even leave the house for 30 days and have to be on a special diet and blah blah blah. My parents are Asian and have lots of beliefs, but I think its also due to lack of medicAL care and how their lifestyle was that contributed to it.

I realized does r just tales I also thought the same my grandma told me no washing ur hair before 40 days ...so guess what I did curiosity kill me n as soon as I deliver 5 hrs later I shower n did it nothing happen I was fresh n clean ;-) .I did this for all my 5 deliveries n no problem .
