She sounds like she's doing well. I'm actually a NICU respiratory therapist. I put babies on CPAP and all that for a career. She shouldn't need it too long, and when they said steroids weren't worth it, they probably meant because you had to deliver very quickly. Steroids take 12 hours to really work and need 3 doses to be optimally effective. Congrats on your little girl.
@blackbarbie10 glad to hear your little one is doing well! Congrats momma!! @rtmommy that makes me feel better. Thanks so much. And your right about the steriods...my brain just wasnt functioning last night
I just wanted to say thanks to all the pregly woman for the paryers. Mariana is doing better but still need.oxygen. She is sooooo tiny. All I want to do is hold her
@upnorthmom does she have umbilical lines? That's the only reason I can see that would keep them from letting you hold her. And I know what you're going through. Besides working NICU/PICU, my son was also a 32+4 weeker. It's torture having to go home without your baby, but keep looking to the next few weeks. She will make such quick progress that you'll go home in no time. We're here for you, mama!
@Upnorthmom, I know how you feel about wanting to hold her. I didn't get to hold my daughter til we were taking her off the life support. :O( But I know things will be better for you! She will be home in no time! Keep us updated! I don't know what they mean about steroids not being worth it. Makes no sense to me. 24 hours can make a huge difference with steroids.
