Esp. @homebirthadvocate.....ok im 38 n 4....i have a doctors app. Tomor....if i asked them to do it will they? What does it do? Has n e ond had...if so how bad does it hurt? Im 1.5 cm n 90% effaced.......o n can some one tutor me on this effacment stuff lol what is it.?

    Ouch I just remembered the PAIN sorry it was so painful for me they didnt even tell me they were gonna do it 4nurses just came in suposebly to check me and they did it =( by the way it didnt help

    I had mine stripped with my 1st it felt like a cramp and then later that day my water broke. I was 40+3 and 80%effaced and 2cm. My sis had hers done at 38 weeks and it did nothing.

    it's likely the doc could do it. but also some docs wont do it until youre at 40 wks. i had it done with my first and i went into labor the next day. but the doc refused with my second. (different doc) i don't remember any pain or feeling.
