?? for those with hip pains

edited July 2011 in Third Trimester
I read on another post there are many of you with hip pains. I was wondering if yours was similar to mine. I've felt for the past 3 weeks like my hip was out of place and thought I needed to see a chiropractor. My right hip has a sharp pain that seems to increase throughout the day the more Im on it. It hurts whenever I raise my leg. Is it out of place or just a normal prego symptom that you just have to wait out?

  • It's prolly if sciatic nerve being pinched. I've had it for years from a car accident. I take muscle relaxers to help me sleep but its still agitating me lol. A chiropractor can help just make sure they deal with pregnant moms. My hips also find bone on bone now when I'm up too long.
  • Grind* bone on bone lol
  • Its normal.. my baby girl is laying on my right side and she's killing my right hip and pelvis!! I'm 35+3
  • For me sleeping with a pillow in between my legs really helps with the hip pain and pelvic pain...hope that gives you some relief
  • i have horrible pain in between my leggs like in the pelvis area.. it sucks so bad.. this is my third preg and seems to be worse with this one.. ugh.. %-(
  • whoops wrong smilly lol
  • Im on the same boat @lae3 I have really bad pain & pressure on my pelvic bone it hurts to walk & even move. Im only ok when im laying down or sitting down
  • @Yayal0vesy0u yeah i know!! ugh.. but when you get up after sitting a long time i notice it feels even more sore.. it sucks cause i still have 12wks togo.. yikes..
  • Could also just be ur hips widening getting prepared..That's what my doc told me, its normal and very common..Try a pillow between ur legs when laying down.
  • Google "Sciatica" and look at pics of it.... It was honestly the pics that helped me realize it was sciatica and not something else. I know lots of tricks and remedies for sciatic pain. If you believe that's what it is, tag me or inbox me, and I'll explain as much as I can tomorrow. Right now, I'm about to pass out. But I do want to help. :) Sciatica is a terrible, horrible symptom to have to deal with! D: I've had it since before I got pregnant, but never knew what it was til I was about 10 weeks. :(
  • @vtmamajuju how far are you? I'm 33 weeks and have horrible mid-back and right hip pain. My back aches like it needs to crack all the time. My hip starts out dull in the morning and by the end of the day its a shooting sharp pain down my leg to the point where I cannot bend over or sit down without thinking about it carefully. Right now both are so bad I can't sleep.
I'm going to a chiropractor tomorrow ... but on nights I sleep at my bfs house I use his ultra-firm body pillow and make sure my spine is aligned when I fall asleep. Those days I get minimal-to-no pain, I'm probably buying myself one tomorrow
  • I have the hip pain. One thing that helps me with it is pelvic rocks. Get on all fours and rock back and fourth. It literally has saved me on long work days.
  • @lae3 omg, I've been having the same pain for the past two tHe. Last nite it was bad. The pain OS right where the inside of my thigh meets my pelvic/pubic bone. My pain kinda burns some also.
  • Thanks everyone for your input!
    @ashes @Kingsmama
I actually don't think its sciatica because I had that when I was pregnant with my first, and as I recall, that was actually MUCH worse than what I have now! Lol. Guess i have something to be grateful about.
This pain is more like something is sore, but a sharp sore pain like something is out of place. I guess it just makes me feel better knowing there's many others in the same boat and we'll all get through this.
  • I'm having the same problem. ..this is my 3rd and i feel like this one is the worst too @lae3
  • @MistyLou @3rdangelontheway .... urghh and it seems to be getting worse :O i really cant wait to be done being prego.. its not enjoyable.. argh... oh yah and i like said its gotten sooner and more painful with each pregnancy.. i cant do this again.. this is my last little blessing.. if i have anything to do with it.. :p
  • @lae3...this is my last as well and im making sure of it im getting my darn tubes tied :)
  • I had the same thing, for 3 weeks. I finally couldn't take the pain anymore and cried for 2 hours straight. My mom convinced me to go to l&d. Apparently I had a UTI, which by the pamphlet they gave me, can cause contractions. I was having contractions and never even knew it. They monitored me & gave me meds to clear up the uti. I thought the pain wasn't ever gunna end till I gave birth. I also misdiagnosed myself, cause I relied on google.

So I say, suck it up and go to the docy and get checked.
  • @3rdangelontheway i thought about that .. but.. im scared to sever the ties.. lol.. i dont want to go through mentapause early... but.. i dont know im seriously thinking about it.. i dont know though.. how are you getting it done.. do you have to have a csec to get it..
  • Oh, and I've had uti's before being pregnant and know the 'normal' symptoms, but I had no clue. And with this it was only my right side. I tried pillows, heat, cold, warm baths, nothing helped, not even tylenol.
  • @lae3...omg i didnt know i would have to go through mentapause lol..... but no you dont have to get a c section to get them done... the only difference here i dont know if its the same there but with a c section they tie them before they close your tummy and with vaginal you have to wait a week... im just getting mine tied not clipped and burned.
