Unconventional Breastmilk Uses

edited July 2011 in Just for Fun
My daughter broke out into reeeally bad baby acne so a family friend suggested I put breastmilk on it, and lo and behold, after two days, it's almost completely cleared up!!

Anyone have any other different uses for breastmilk?! :-"

  • conjunctivitis or "pink eye"
    ear infections
    scrapes
    scratches
    cuts
    sore nipples
    Diaper rash
    Teething
    soften skin
    baby acne

If you have extra milk.. pump and freeze it in a ice cube tray... Then pop them out and store in a zip lock back. Each cup is 2oz so it makes it easy to measure for feedings.

You can also drop several cubes into a warm bath for your baby to soften skin or cure diaper rashes.

Drop a few drops in your eye 3x's a day to cure pink eye.

A few drops in the ear 3x's a day to cure an ear infection.

For cuts, scratches or scraps... Rub a milk cub over the area.

  • Wow! I never knew there were that many uses for breast milk other than for feeding baby. I did hear about putting it in the eye. Diaper rashes?! Hmmm I might try that one out, since my toddler has one really bad. Thanks for the tips! :-D

  • Mhm I used it as a milk gun once, hubby was bugging me so I sprayed his face with milk..
  • @gatorbob @Janet_2011 Omg that's the best use of it I've heard so far.

@melinda326 breastmilk is amazing. I burnt a massive chunk of my finger out a few weeks ago, it should of closed up in a month, but I milked it up every time I nursed, and it healed up in four days!!!
  • @natashalynn wow that's amazing! I just put some on my daughters diaper rash.
  • @melinda326 let me know how that goes. I haven't tried that yet.

Damn. Why hasn't this been marketed?! Lol
  • @natashalynn I know right. Hey we might be onto something. $$$ lol.
