Breastfeeding Baby Doll For Young Girls. Have you heard of this yet?

Ok so there is this new baby doll that will be hitting US toy stores very soon. It is a baby doll for little girls that teaches them how to breastfeed an infant. This is very controversial in America some love it and some hate it.

Basically its a baby doll that also come with this little halter top the girl puts on over her chest. There r little flowers that imitated the nipples that have sensors in them. When u bring the baby up to the sensors the baby makes a suckling noise. Then the baby can cry when it needs to be burped.

Some feel it sexualizes little kids to have sex sooner, and not aspiring for their dreams and to get pregnant at a young age and stay home with a baby. Others feel its an educational tool and helps young girls identify with watching women bf in the real world. Some think of will make lil girls more nurturing mothers in the future.
I want ur opinions! There's all sorts of articles and videos on this. Just type into Google "breastfeeding baby doll" I think its called Bebe Gloton.

    I agree. I think ppl r upset cuz it teaches them what nipples really r...and that somehow they will relate it to sex.

    PS most kids imitate trying to breastfeed their dolls when they see mommy breastfeeding a sibling so what is the difference besides the doll was made for it?

    Personally i wouldnt buy it for my little girl. Im pro brestfeeding as well but i wouldnt think its appropriate my little girl to be fake breastfeeding a baby. Wat if she doesnt take the halter with her everywhere n one day decides to pull up her shirt n bf the baby in public? Not cool wit me

    idk how I feel about it, I don't think is sexual, but I do kinda think it would create more teen pregnancies in thee future for some reason, the more realistic the baby doll thee more you want a baby I suppose, that's how it was for me.

    @surprise_due8_28 I understand. I'm pro bf too. But I can also see where @excitednewmom is coming from. But also lil kids lift their shirts and try to get naked in public all the time. I would tell the lil girl when its appropriate to bf the doll and when its not just like women do with real infants.

    @sunshinelove Haha I was that way too! I had a baby doll that looked really realistic. He smelled like baby powder the whole 9...well no privates but I think it was a girl doll (no hair tho) but I always wanted a boy (and I'm luckily having a boy as r 1st) but I even had my mom stuff washclothes in him to make him heavier like a real baby.

    I think it's great to promote something that's normal and natural, but I also get the weird factor as I've seen the doll. BTW, the doll itself is not very realistic in terms of baby dolls. Personally, I used to imitate breastfeeding my baby dolls as a little girl. I knew not to do it in front of people, and it didn't cause any abnormal sexualization or teen parenthood longings. I'm 32 having my first baby after waiting and planning for him... Just saying... ;-)

    Babies get naked in public. Once ur child is about 4 they should kno not to get naked in public. Im sure 5-8 year old (maybe more or less) will be playing wit those dolls. Although they kno not to get naked in public they will think its ok to lift their shirts up n bf the doll. That i think is not cool

    @ourlittlenugget do u live in the US? I thought I read it wasn't being released here til the end of the month. Where did u see it at? And I was the same way, I imitated bfing my dolls but only at home when I was playing alone. I never did it around my parents tho cuz I thought it was wrong and I'd get yelled at :( I'm now happily married for almost 3 years, 26 yrs old and we r expecting r 1st. He wasn't planned but he wasn't not planned either. We decided to leave it up to god and stopped using protection. It still took 13 months for us to get pregnant but we were ready for him :) I'll be 35 weeks on Tuesday and I turn 27 not long after he gets here.

    @excitednewmom ya but I think that's where the parents come into play and need to teach r kids when its appropriate and not to feed a baby just like real moms face everyday. Like its ok for us to do it in the bathroom where its only women but its not ok to do it at the check out line at a store ya know.

    @kingsmama see that i disagree with. There r laws protecting breastfeeding so a woman doesnt have to feed her kid in the bathroom. I dnt eat on a toilet so i def wont be feeding my kid on one. Although i dnt wna see nipples while im out in public i do not care if a woman decides to feed her baby out in public. Her baby is hungry so she should feed it. A lot of lil girls see woman bf their kid in public so they might think ots ok for then to do it to their doll. A parent can teach her not to but then she will see women all around doing it

    @excitednewmom ok sry let me rephrase that statement. We should teach them how to do it properly as in when u bf make sure to use a blanket or cloth to cover ur chest. I agree with seeing a moms boob hanging out a baby latched on and nipples showing, is kinda gross to me. I will bf in public in a conserving way. About the doll tho honestly I prolly wouldn't buy one for my girl, not that I think its wrong its just weird imo. But luckily I'm having a boy lol.

    No not for my little girls- I have very mixed emotions on this. I am pro bf but don't want that doll for my girls. I put it up there with the doll that pees and poops yeah to real she keep her imagination and not have technology do it for her. I have a 5 year old girl and another due in december.

    @kingsmama Yup, I'm in the US - I saw it on a morning news expose many months back and since then on some talk shows here and there. Awww...that makes me sad you thought you'd get in trouble! :-S Thanks for sharing your story; it's very similar to mine! We just celebrated 3 years of marriage too. We had our 19 week gender ultrasound scheduled on our anniversary in fact. And same thing: we hadn't yet said we'd try but figured it would happen when God was ready. Since we found out, everything's been falling into place perfectly! God's a better planner than we are ;-)

    I really don't know what my view point on this. I wasn't a little girl that played with baby dolls. I played with barbies for about a yr then we started shooting them off with firecrackers -_- That aside, maybe people feel that maybe it's to intimate because if she gets the wrong idea? Like maybe letting another kid do that? I can see how it would be a very good educational tool though. That would potentially open them up for being pro-breastfeeding later and being okay with their bodies instead of thinking of it as taboo. Just my thoughts though.

    Not trying to start an argument at all. I'm having a little girl and I'd like your views on this topic as well. Have ya'll though about the whole accidental misguiding issue?

    @mylittleman2011 do u think there is an age in which its ok for girls.to play with dolls like that? I'm lucky cuz I'm having r 1st which is a boy. I don't think I'd buy one for my girl either and I'm pro bfing. But I don't mind stored carrying of for parents who want to buy it.

    Its hard thank God I don't have girls...I wouldn't buy it for my neices because I wouldn't want some pervert staring at them getting the wrong ideah...most perverts get enough out of adult women bf in public but now little girls ugh....I guess I answered my question

    Umm im rey have a daughter , an I doubt I wuld buy the bbydoll for my daughter. Its kind of inappropiate. Idk thats jus me . especially outside with it. An her father wuld raise hell ! Lol

    @ourlittlenugget wow our stories r so similar! How far along r u now? They say I'm due Sept 6th but he's 3weeks ahead and making my cervix change already so I'm on bedrest now til he gets here just in case :) I feel he will only be another week or 2 before he decides to arrive. And the drs said they won't stop my labor from here on out :)

    @rckprincess2 I don't know if it would actually misguide little kids cuz tbh at 5-8 years old I wasn't thinkin about sex yet. I'm sure boys do at that age. Then again times are changing and I grew up in the 80s and I know kids r having sex at much younger ages. I'm not sure if a doll that u bf will lead to girls going out and having sex earlier so they can play mommy idk. But u never know. If I was having a girl tho honestly I still don't think I'd buy it for her. I think kids that little should use their imagination to play and not toys that are that realistic ya know.

    @kingsmama I know; so cool! My official due date is October 18th, but I secretly hope he'll come at 37 weeks, which would be right around September 29th - the date of our engagement four years ago. I'm a sucker for sentimentality and just thought it would be perfect. Of course if he's not ready I'll wait, but he usually does everything else I ask him to do, like kick Daddy. :-)) Gosh, your little one is in a hurry to meet you, huh? Is he a big boy already? That's so exciting he might be here soon! Yay!!

    I have 2 daughters and they will never be getting this doll. Im defintely pro breastfeeding and will be breastfeeding this baby. But with my last child my kids would try and steall my pump and try and use it on themselves and i had to let them know that is inappropriate. I just think it takes the innocence away from the child which is my opinion. Its cute to see a lil girl feeding her doll with a bottle but if she lifted her shirt and tried breastfeeding it i would be mortified. And a lot of children dont have a social filter so eventhough u may teach them whats right and wrong and the appropriate place to do things they may not fully comprehend.
