maternity clothing

edited February 2011 in Pregnant
Im in TX and its already getting warm. Im due in October so most of my pregnancy will be in a blistering summer. I'm thinking I just want to forgo maternity pants and wear dresses the whole time. My nff told me it would be tacky. What is everyone's opinion?

  • Ur bff doesn't have style.lol. pregnant woman look beautiful in dresses :)
  • Why is wearing dresses tacky? I plan on wearing dresses for most of the summer too its much cooler and comfortable
  • Just tell ur bff to try walking around in the middle of summer with baby in the belly lol she would want dresses too bc they will be much color im going this weekend to find some dresses and skirts yayy!!
  • im actually a bit jealous that youre delivering later on
im delivering in early june, so no real chance to wear cute dresses :(
  • I am on this same boat, preggers during the summer. I don't know what I will do, maybe a mix of cute dresses and capris and loose t-shirts
  • I am also due in Oct and I plan on wearing dresses most of the time.
  • I'm in new Mexico also where it is starting to get hot and also where we have blistering summers, and summer dresses were my plan as well I'm due August 14 so I will also be pregnant mostly in summer. I think dresses are an awesome solution to beating the heat!
  • I am definitely in agreement. I can't stand to even wear socks when its hot out side. Fyi ladies I went to ross and found some really cute dresses for cheap. I think showing the bby bump is cute, not tacky.

  • That's what I'm thinking. My bday is 2 wks after I'm due. So I will definitely still wear a dress then.
  • @rissalee7
get something a bit bigger than what you were b4 the baby. That way you have room for a seamstress to take it in or let it out to your current measurements. Its all ways better to have a bigger dress than a smaller dress.
  • ok just was like cant we order mine after the baby is due plzzzz. im usually a 5/6 so ill just order a 7/8
  • And the seamstress will say a lot of sewing terms that won't sound like English. It all boils down to her taking the dress apart to re sew it. And make sure the bust will fit your new cup size.
  • Ok ty so much for the info
