is ths early labor or just false labor??? wtf!

So last night i was having consistant contractions that were mildly painful lasting anywhere from 30 sec to 1 min long, they were about 4 or 5 mins apart and i was having 8 to 10 an hour for about 6 hours....i called my dr. She said to drunk a big glass of water & go to bed so i did. ..woke up this morning having like 3 an hour and now I'm relaxing on the couch and had 10 in the last hour:( I'm 38 weeks 2 days. ..could this be very early labor or is my baby girl faking me out????

    It may very well be labor. Keep timing the contractions.

    Could be early labor I've been in early labor for 5 days stuck at 3cm. Good luck I hope its faster for you

    I'm sorta in denial i guess....could it be that I'm not drinking enough water or something? Can that cause so many contractions?

    I know its weird but I'm not ready yet! I wanted to go right on my due date, my dad won't fly in till the 11th

    I wish I could trade places with u lol...but u can try drinking more water if it doesnt slow down or stop then u should call the doc, my doc says call if I have 6 or more contractions in an hour

    to me, it sounds like it's early labor. of course unless you are dilated to a certain point or they are extremely consistent and painful they wont keep you. but it should be coming, id say

    Ok just called the on call doc & she said to wait until they are 5 mins apart for a whole hour...that's 12 an hour.. WTH...why does every doctor tell u something different? My other doc told me to come in if they are 6 an hour???
