  • I had it.. my dr put me on a strict diet and had me take my sugar before and after meals to see if I could just stay on the diet or have to have pills or the shots. well mine got bad, had to take the pill then ended up taking shots at least 4 times a day.. good luck

  • yelp, at 39 weeks.
  • I have that but not that bad.... I test my blood sugar 3 times a week... just eat less carbs...try eating more like GREEN vegetables and meats...less in starch..one slice of bread can do not more than 2...drink lots of water....oj? Apple juice? Just 1 cup...that's 15grams already od carbs...all I can advice eat green vegetables, meat, egg, water.... it will help a lot... :)
  • I was diagnosed with Gestational diabetes earlier this week. I had to meet with a specialist and a diabetes educator, I am now monitoring my blood sugar levels 4 times a day, and being very careful on what I eat. They think I can just control it with my diet but I am going to chart my sugar levels for a week and if they are way out of control I have to go on insulin. it's a lot of information at once (I'm 34 weeks) and It's something I need to get under control quickly before I wind up with a really big baby.
  • thanks everyone
  • Most of the time, it can be controlled thru diet. If she does have it, they'll make her watch her carb intake and monitor her sugar levels, then go from there. I was really worried about my baby, too, but most side affects of GD that the baby may have are minor and will be cleared up before they leave the hospital. Good luck.
