  • Did u have a vag birth? Or c section?
Sorry this might be a dumb question I'm a first timer lol
  • I tried to get it and they couldn't get it in needless to say that was 2 1/2 years ago and I still have s messed up back
  • This is exactly why I'm going to go with out it
  • My son is 4 and I still have sharp pains in my back once in a while...but id rather feel a sharp pain here and there than feel every contraction and the pain of labor...but every woman reacts differently to an epidural...my friend had one and threw up thru her entire labor and had a horrible headache after delivery...I felt so bad for her...
  • Its ok i was gonna do natural but i only dialated to 2cm in 11 hours so i had to get a C section @babyboyontheway
  • Do u know what vertebrae they put it in? Cuz my L 3 4 and 5 r badly twisted from a car accident and I'm scared they won't be able to get it in or it might paralyze me :( this is my 1st btw.
  • It sucks because the pains are in my Lower back an shoulders @agzbabygurl
  • They put it in your spine @kingsmama
  • I know it goes in ur spine but do u know in between which two vertebrae cuz my lower back and hips r what's messed up. My lumbar spine vertebrae numbers 3, 4 and 5.
  • From what I remember its not that low. U should be able to google it
  • I get the pains in my lower back it feels like someone is stabbing me there and at some points it gets so bad ill be stuck laying down when I wake up
  • I'm also going to give birth without drugs. Even if I'm in labor for half a day. The whole thing sounds freaky to me. Idk, it just seems like messing with your spine isn't such a great idea. Then again, I'm also freaked out when I get blood drawn. I know they only take a little bit, but my brain tells me, "Noooo!!! That's supposed to stay inside you!" I guess I have issues with my fluids and parts.
I hope you feel better! That's no good to be in pain when the drug they gave you was supposed to take it away and make things comfortable :(
  • @kingsmama I had all my babies without it its a lot better that way it hurts but breathe through it and relax all will be fine and in the end all the pain you were in goes away and its all worth it when you see and hold tour baby
  • Yea it really sucks like my daughter is 5 days old an ever since I got an epidural an c section I cant even get up when she cries or to feed her but so far I force myself but my staples hurt @agzbabygurl
  • Ya I'm debating on going natural or not. I think I'm gonna try to hold out as long as possible but I'm not going to deny meds if its too painful or I'm just plain exhausted. I do handle pain pretty well so that's in my favor :) only time will tell. I'm high risk too so they may c section me and not let me vaginally deliver.
  • Ugh thanks for sharing your story's I have low back problems to began with and I will not be getting an epidural. Sorry for everyones back pain.
  • :'( I was stuck in bed one day and my son was in his crib screaming cuz he was hungry and I tied like hell to get up and I physically couldn't I had to call my hubby at work to come home and well it didn't go over well with his nco's (he was in the army)
  • I know r bodies r meant to handle it or we couldn't have babies. I'm going to try my hardest for natural I just hope I don't have back labor with my already bad back lol. My mom says I can do it cuz I've passed 14 kidney stones with minimal pain relief and they say that's almost as bad if not worse than having a baby. If so I'm a pro already lol.
  • I also had an epidural about 5 yrs ago with my son. I'm one of the lucky ones that didn't end up with a messed up back! I'm feel just fine :).. ima try to go natural this time since my first I was 18 and had a circus in my room I couldn't concentrate on my breathing.. I just had a horrible birthing experience mostly bc of all the ppl in the room while I was contracting there had to have been at least 10-15 ppl in there all talking and laughing. This time I told my hubby to kick anyone out that even made a peep! (My husband is not the father of my first)
  • Eek do you think that the back pain comes from the person administering the epidural incorrectly?? Like getting blood drawn for example.. someone experienced at a lab won't make you bruise or hurt or not be able to find a good vein.
