Still birth??

edited February 2011 in Pregnant
Okay about a week & a half who I went to the doctor for an ultra sound, & was told i was 10weeks 4days. Well I just came to a different doctor who was on call, & she told me I'm 10weeks 6days & w/a different due date. Has this happend to anyone else? & could I have a still birth, or miscarriage? This is so scary :(

  • Yeah I had a scan at 6weeks but when I went back when I was 12wk weeks I was put at 12wk weeks and 6 days.. its normal for the days to change.. even at my scan at 13 weeks I was put a day infront agen
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • mine has changed from june 10th to may 31st to july 2nd and just had my 20 week us two weeks ago and my lil girl looks perfectly healthy baby growing isnt an exact science lol!!!!
  • Still birth doesn't occur till after 20 weeks. And with my daughter my first due dat was may 8 then when I went to have a sono further along they changed it to April 29 then a month later I had another one the lady said she thought April 24 but not enough difference to change it my daughter was born April 28 she is a healthy baby. Due dates can always change did they seem concerned did they see a heart beat
  • Yes, its normal & nothing to worry about unless it measures much smaller... all babies grow at a slightly different rate, even varying from week to week. I have 3 'due dates'... Dr #1 said Aug. 1st, Dr #2 says Jul 31st, and my last ultrasound said Aug 4th... lol...
Baby will come when baby is ready!... :D

Edit: I misread the post...but still ... :) nothing to worry about. And a change in due date has nothing to do with stillbirth, and rarely means anything about miscarriage.
A due date change just means the technicians interpreted the ultrasound differently, you ovulated at a different time than you thought, or something else along those lines..
  • And most of the time their estimate is based on baby size. And like children they grow at different rates and some are bigger or smaller than what they call average.
  • Something else I forgot to mention... some docs go by gestational age, some go by your last period date. The difference is about two weeks. My friend is having twins and was first told she would be 38 weeks. Went to another doc and was given 40 weeks. Confused the hell out of her and she was telling people she's having 10+ months of pregnancy

When I first found out I was pregnant on august 18 my first ultrasound said I was 7 wks and 5 days, when the baby only looked like the little sac and the big yok sac and guessed that I was due April 4, then on September 1 my mom and I went back for an ultrasound to make sure that I was 9 wks and 3 days on that day I found out I was only 7 wks and 3 days and that my due date was April 17, the baby started looking like a baby. But when I put those picture on my Facebook the bd denied the baby because there were two different dates and he swore i was showing b4 bc I work at a water park as a lifeguard and worked 10 hr shifts and worked 6 days a week so I was fatigue and very tired. But I wish guys would quit being jerks and if you can make a choice to not rap it then step up to the responsibility.
So yeah two different due dates do happen
  • @debs Yes I got to see the heartbeat & she didn't seem concerned at all she she asked if I wanted a picture & just to be on bed rest this weekend, so I don't know what that's all about :( ??
  • Not sure why she would say bed rest this weekend I would call your Dr to see why. But seeing a heart beat is a great sign and wouldn't be worried about them changing how far you are
  • Thanks for all your answers ladies, yall definitely put my mind at ease. this is my first pregnancy, so every little mistake or anything that goes wrong freaks me out.lol
  • @debs I think she wants me on bed rest because I was spotting, & she said no sex until my next appointment. She said she doesn't want me to do anything that could harm the baby, so I'm hoping that the spotting was just normal, & not bcuz of something else
  • Thats understandable I haven't had spotting but read on this forum other women have and nothing bad has happened
