downsyndrome testing?

I'm young (21) so my level for having a downsyndrome child is very low. But they still give u a blood test anyway. When they called me after the test they said everything was fine but they where sending me for a ultrasound growth test at 8 months so I went for my ultrasound today and when I talked to the Dr he said that my acg? Levels where alittle high.. that's the downsyndrome test he said he didn't see anything wrong on the ultrasound so hes not Gunna send me for anymore and didn't seem very concerned.. but I don't understand y they didn't give me another blood test or waited all the way until I was 8 months to tell me this.. did anyone else have high acg levels?

    just to let you know those tests are very very often false positives. I am not saying it is in your case, but they can often be high and nothing is "wrong" at all

    I also chose not to be tested. I will keep and love my babies no matter what. And like @mshahir said most of the tests are false positives. Mothers terminate their pregnancies thinking its downsyndrome and the babies are 100% normal.

    Most tests do come back as false positives. So I wouldn't worry! :) I had my daughter who happens to have DS when I was 25. I refused all testing when I was pregnant with her so we found out 2 days after she was born. Its crazy that 90% of women abort their babies cause their tests come back positive and half the time the tests are inaccurate.

    My 2nd boy had a larger than ave nucial fold on the sonogram test they told me eberything else seemed normal I opted out of the second blood test cause I wasnt gonna terminate anyways.. He.was.fine
    . I also had a couple of friends recently get simlar results and u/s was normal so try not to worry. If.everything else.was normal.. The numbers are abersges an not every baby or mom is going to be avr

    I, agee those tests can give false positives though I'm for the test but im sure it will b ok

    I didn't bother with the tests cause its my baby and no matter what I'll love her, my sis on the other hand did and they said her baby was definitely gonna have downs or something wrong. She was so upset for the rest of her pregnancy and didn't get much for babs cause of the fear, well harry is now 7 and healthy and happy....and showed no signs of ANY problems. X

    I go for my ds test next week. There is a high false positive rate with those test. If your ultrasound looks normal i wouldn't worry about anything.
