stupid hospitals

Ok so I been getting sick to the point I can't keep food down so this morning I called the doctor and he said to go to the hospital and get a iv and if it keeps up he will put in a standing order for me for ivs. So I went to the hospital was there 3 hours they did not give me a iv and sent me home saying I have hyperemesis gravidarum and put me on clear liquids for 24 hours grr.

    I would ask your doctor for zofran. It has been a miracle pill for me..im 24 wks and.dont need it anymore but I do keep them in case I need them. Within 15 mins im ready to eat and go about my day. Goodluck hun.

    Poor thing I had that up.to 24 weeks awful Fran ain't even work for me.went as.far as having to take suppositories(sp)

    Yah I am on zofran it won't work I go in to see my ob in an hour and see what she wants me to do .

    So sorry! Sour things and peppermint stuff worked for me when I started to feel sick.

    Um, Id call back and tell your doctor. Yes, you probably have hyperemesis, but the IV was to hydrate you. Id be royally pissed.

    did they even give you meds for the nausea?

    Ya I am on zofran and do iv. 2 hours a day 7 days a week
