waiting in dr's nurse to call back

edited February 2011 in Pregnant
My bp is going nuts. At 12:40 it was 128/90. Not even ten min. ago it was 143/104. So I called the Dr to see what they want me to do, and now I am playing the waiting game.

  • That is a little high. In the meantime, relax and drink some water. Take it again and if is still that high call again, especially if you're not feeling well.
  • I have no idea what's going on. I didnt have these problems with my sons. I know it has given me a headache.
  • It's Friday afternoon and if they for some reason forget to call you back, you'll have to wait until monday. If I were you, I'd be on my way into the office. Just make sure they have your cell number instead of a home number.
  • Lay on your side. I had preclampsia with my son and laying on my side would bring my bp down
  • Lay on your left side and for a few mind and take it while laying down that's what they did with me in the hospital with my first baby
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • The nurse called back and got more info. The on call Dr. is in l and d right now. I am the first on the list to get a call. The nurse told me to lay down for a lil bit, and wait for her to call.
  • Yes @ uncaffeinated_katie. They close at 2 but have an on call and answering service. I like my Dr. office they are real good about calling back in a decent amount of time
  • Sometimes the home montors can give you a high reading... but if u have a headache, blur vision, stomach pains or seeing spots. You need to call your doctor back and tell them they need to call you back. Relax and have a glass of water and lay on your left side. But if they dont call you back keep calling.... it could be nothing but it could also be something. And when it comes to your baby don't wait til Monday morning.
  • Oh I won't don't worry about that. I know brtter. If I have to I will go to the er.
  • I have a feeling I am going to be put on bed rest if it doesn't go down and stay down.
  • How many weeks are you?
  • I had hypertension in my last pregnancy. it was very nerve racking. but they kept a close eye on me. hope everything goes well. keep us updated.
  • U might just b sick hun. I was the same way u are and I went to the er I had the flu and mono. And had no idea I was that sick butttt u know us pregnant ladies get sick soooooo easily.... ugh hang in there sweetie whatever it is you will b okay.
  • I just got over the flu. They told me that it is too early to test for preeclampsia. I am only 7wks 2days. They also said that me getting dizzy is normal too. I am just going to keep a real close eye on it. If it here too out of hand then I will go to the er
  • I have been really dizzy with this pregnancy but no high blood pressure.
  • I wish it would stop. I did good for about 4 hrs and then I got dizzy again. This really bites.
