Noticing (bad) breath?

edited February 2011 in First Trimester
I'm 9 weeks and have noticed my husband's breath much more than I ever have...even right after he brushes his teeth when I know it should be minty fresh....I don't think anything in him has changed, but have my senses kicked up? Has anyone else experienced this?

  • That happened to me too in early stages...its gone away now
  • I have a huge problem with this! My husband is an occasional smoker to make things even worse. Sometimes I even notice my daughters breath when she wakes up. She gets her 6 teeth brushed every night before bed but she still gets baby morning breath lol
  • @lilliebug was it something you always noticed or do you think it's heightened by pregnancy?

Thanks @billye910 ....you give me hope! It's a turn off to say the least, and I feel terrible!
  • Yeah I made my hubby and son both feel bad at first...it came out of nowhere and was disgusting
  • One morning, I was brushing my sons teeth and had to stop, kicked him out if the bathroom so he wouldn't watch me throw up. Daddy started taking over that job after that. Haha
  • Totally a pregnancy related problem
  • Definitely have the same prob and I think its pregnancy related my husband gets so irritated with me asking if he brushed lol
  • Yeah same problem here. Its really quite gross I do hope it goes away soon.
  • Im 27 wks. I gave up on having him brush his teeth all the time. Usually just avoid getting that close. I also have a problem with hearing other people chew food. I have to sit on the other side of the room with the tv turned up or else I wanna go crazy. I am a server too and the other day I got really grossed out just watching the way some people shovel food in
  • I smell everything!!! They make fun of me at work cause im constantly smelling things that they don't smell. Everything smells 10 X's stronger.
  • Same here! Sorry if this is tmi. My bf (finally after weeks) initiated sex this morning, then I smelled his breath. I've never been turned off so fast
  • LOL I seriously just thought my husband developed a horrible case of crap breath... Its a relief to know its all bc of this pregnancy. I havent said anything to him... But I do offer him ALOT of gum lol!
  • I'm 9wks and my sense of smell is in overdrive. My boyfriend is a mechanic. He comes home smelling like cars, oil, and sweat. I can't take it even for a moment. I rant and rave til he showers. Then to make matters worse his body wash makes me sick. Lol. Its just strong to me. I also can't stand his hair product. None of these things bothered me before. Poor thing can't win for losing.
  • I'm so glad to know I'm not alone with this "problem". Thanks, ladies. I finally broke the news to my husband and told him I had a problem...them I told him about my sniffer bring on overdrive....and that our dogs smell more than they normally do and how I could smell his whiskey from across the room, and I mentioned his breath. He didn't take it as hard as he could have but at least he won't be in shock when I turn away when he tries to kiss me....which I'm sure will make sex interesting!
  • YES! I notice this all the time! I work in an elementary school, and I swear my classroom smells like morning breath!
  • this happened to me yesturday! I told my fiance everything he ate that day lol
