I'm the worst Mom ever... Mom's with kids already Advice please.

I was clipping my daughters nails and she moved at the worst moment and I cut her finger. Its been bleeding for awhile now probably ten minutes. The doctor says that it will clot it just takes awhile. I feel so bad she fell sleep in my arms. I'm so sorry Dri :'(

    Aw! -hugs- it happens to the best of us don't feel bad it does not make you a bad mom.
    It happened to my mom so much that she just started to chew our nails off. Sounds odd but she says she got them shorter and it didn't leave the nails sharp.
    I can't do that though

    Awww. I'm scared to cut Zephyr's nails for the same reason, so I bite them while he is sleeping. Lol. I have done it for both of my boys. You're not a bad mom. :)

    oh man when i did that for the first time i just cried and cried endlessly! it's ok. i had to angle the clippers now so that even if they move i wont clip them. the best time to do it is when they are asleep.

    Omg I did that with mine too ..just bite them off easier n they don't freak but I tried to always do it when sleeping in my arm

    Hubbys on the way home. I put bandages on it and wrapped a towel around it.

    I did the excact same thing with my first and I now have a phobia about it. My doc laughed when I told him as he said lots of mums do it. I still bite their nails now instead of cutting. X x

    hmmmmm, i think it took close to 20 minutes. i put a small piece of ice on it though to help.

    I did the same thing to my Aydrian. I was in the hospital & it was late & the nurse didn't knock before she came in & she scared me & I clipped the top of her finger tip. I felt horrible. It bled for a good 15 minutes. Nail files work well too along w/ biting. Accidents happen & that doesn't make you a bad mom or there wouldn't be any good moms out there!

    I did that to my sons toe. It bled forever but did stop. Just keep.applying pressure. And breath the good thing is they don't remember.

    It stopped thank you everyone for the friendly advice. I put a bandage over it and she is laying down for a nap.

    I always filed my kids because i was too scared of that happening...i hope she feels better...dont feel bad, things happen :)

    Small tip! My pediatrician told me not to cut my sons nails, to file them! So I did that until he was around 6 months :)

    Awh, honey!! You didn't do anything to her on purpose and I'm sure she knows that! I doubt she even feels anything now lol, my father did that to my brother when he was born and never cut another nail in his life- not even his own!! But if you are worried about it, you can always file or bite their nails. Good luck sweetie! (:

    My sil did that to my niece and my mom had her put coffee on the cut to stop the bleeding.

    Don't feel bad. When my son was 2 weeks I clipped his nail to low and it bleed so I bought him to the emergency room. All they did was applied pressure for 10 minutes and it stopped bleeding. I cried my heart out. You think I would have learned from my mistake 2 1/2 years who but I didn't. I tried clipping my daughters nails while she was asleep about 2 weeks ago and she jumped and of course I nipped her finger. She is now 2 1/2 months. I just thought back and applied pressure to it and she was fine. So if anything I'm the horrible mommy. Lol

    Lol! U poor thing! I always made my mom clip my kids cause I was scared! At least ur brave enough to do it on ur own! But my mom clipped my daughters finger n refused to do it anymore! Try the nail scissors. Those seem to work better n make it less likely to cut baby. Gl!

    I did it to my first too! Also, to my nephew! My sister called me over to do it because I was the "experienced" mom. I cried both times and really felt like crap about my nephew. So not only did I feel like the worlds worst mom, two years later I was the worlds worst aunt!

    It happens to the best of us! Don't be too hard on yourself. This is the first of many experiences that will make you feel that way. My oldest is 13... Trust me! I have an encyclopedia full! Hang in there!

    I'm scared about cutting Achilles' nails so I'm just going to file the Hell out of them. Or maybe I'll have daddy do it. Then if Achilles gets snipped it won't be my fault :D

    Awh! Its okay! Shit happens! Try just filing them rather than citing them, my momma tells me that's the best way! Even tho idk for sure, but it might be wise. Its not your fault tho by any means!
