3rd c-section

edited August 2011 in Third Trimester
Anybody else having a 3rd or have had 3 c-sections? I read some horror stories online that got me so nervous now. Just wondering how it went for you or how you feel about having another. I will be having my 3rd on Sept 15th.

  • Im sorry im not much help im going in for my second c section next month. However my dr told me last week that he just scheduled a woman for her 9th c section. I always heard 3 was the max recommended.
  • Ill be having my third in November. I haven't thought about it much but the dr I saw last week said something about when you have different doctors, they have no clue how your last went in terms of actual surgery and incision. I wonder if that's where any complications/difficulty could come in. Kinda makes me wanna move back to Florida just to have this one lol

@emy I think most doctors have a limit of 3..I'm guessing the more scar tissue you have, the higher chance for ruptures etc. My mil has always had pooping problems (ibs and whatnot) and was told her scar tissue was affecting(not causing) her colon problems-she had 3 I believe.
  • That makes me feel better. The same Dr that did my other two is doing this one. My second was a piece of cake compared to my first so I hope this one will go just as smooth. Just nervous... After all it is still surgery.
  • Wish I could help but my 3 rd is scheduled for December 16th. Please let me know how it goes though!!!!!! GL
  • I am scheduled for my 4th c section October 11th.
  • I am scheduled for my 4th Oct 31st. I thought my 3rd was the easiest out of the 3...
  • @cornbreadKim I am one day after you. I will be having my 3rd c-section on Sept.16th. My Dr told me that this one should be a piece of cake.
  • Having my 3rd Sept 30. Second one that is horizontal incision. First one was vertical (horrible). My second was easy and quick to heal. Hoping it will be the same with this one. But very nervous about it. My last one was 10 yrs ago, hmmm, wonder if that changes anything. Good luck to all of us! Wish I had more advice though.
