  • HERE IS THE REASON WHY CLOTHES WASHING BEFORE WEARING IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED.

YOU EVER NOTICE HOW LIQUID TENDS TO ROLL DOWN NEW THINGS INSTEAD OF ABSORBING QUICKLY?

EVER NOTICE HOW BRIGHT THE PICTURES OR WRITING IS BEFORE WASHING?

THE REASON FOR THIS IS BECAUSE THERE IS A CHEMICAL SPRAYED ON THE CLOTHING TO ENHANCE THE LOOK AND PROTECT THE GARMET WHILE AT THE STORE. IF YOU HAVE A SCRATCH OR CRACKED SKIN THAT CHEMICAL CAN GET INTO IT AN CAUSE AN INFECTION AND FOR IT TO NOT HEAL.

WHEN YOUR BABY IS BORN THINK ABOUT THIS. BABYS UMBILICAL CORD, YOU WOULDN'T WANT THAT INFECTED. ALSO BABIES HAVE SHARP NAILS AND TEND TO SCRATCH THEMSELVES. IF BABY SCRATCHES THEIR FACE THEN THEIR FACE COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE CHEMICAL COATING IT COULD POSSIBLY BECOME INFECTED.

    NOBODY WANTS A SICKY NEWBORN
  • THIS IS MY 3RD... I DIDN'T WASH MY BOYS NEW CLOTHES AND THEY ARE JUST FINE... NO ALLERGIES AND NEVER BEEN HOSPITALIZED... AND THEY'RE 5 AND 7... U DON'T HAVE TO WASH THEM... UNLESS THE SWINE FLU OR ANY OTHER CONTAGIOUS VIRUS BREAKS OUT AGAIN... I WOULDNT... I DON'T PLAN ON WASHING MY DAUGHTERS NEW CLOTHES... I THINK A COUPLE OF U LADIES ARE BEING A LIL DRAMATIC... BUT...
  • WHY ARE WE WRITING IN CAPS? LMAO! :ar!
  • I washed them , I think is just a personal choice..
  • @blueberrysmom... I DON'T KNOW! LOL

Im just saying that the spray on the clothes is the reason for the recommendations. It can POSSIBLY have a negative outcome. I work around clothing all day and i have seen some pretty ugly stuff because of it. We had a lady at work that almost had to get her hand amputated cause of an infection cause from the clothing. I personally don't really wash much of the stuff first but it does cross my mind from time to time.
  • I plan on washing some but not all. I'm not going to wash her picture outfit because I'm not sure what size she'll be in and I want to return the newborn sizes if they don't fit.
  • It just seems like such an easy thing to do. I'm going to wash everything including the bedding. I just think of the dirty, buggy sweatshops and factories. Ugh!
  • one time at dillards I witnessed a little girl poking her nose and guess what was her tissue???? I was in the lingerie section so all these nightgowns and what not had nice little snot on them. It was disgusting and the mother wasn't doing anything. I could only imagine clothes coming from the babies/children section. It is personal preference but I don't see why you wouldn't just wash.
  • @lilpeapod913 yes but I don't want then top shrink or look worn out before he wears them
  • I know the reasons to wash them I was just.asking for affects.of not washing them
  • Well if he's only wearing them one time, I sort of see the argument, but either way it seems many ppl don't wash them first so its prob alright.. I was just trying to show you a point that maybe you hadn't thought of.. trust me, at 9 mo pregnant my brain is complete mush!! Lol good luck and if I may ask, what brand are name brand onsies??
  • you should wash them cause some clothes are treated with harmful chemicals that could be absorbed my the skin.. like embolming fluid.. ick.. if you just want to soak them in warm water and then give them a rinse they should be fine.. good luck girll.. i know that cloths dont have that brand new look after washing but its better for your lil one %%-
  • @lilpeapod913 everything in his closet is ralph lauren coogie rocawear timberland jordan black label couture akademics & he has a few carters but everything is name brand & depending on his growth he might not b wearing his stuff more than once & thats not me trying to b superficial I got too many clothes at my shower my friends buy him stuff everytime they shop & I can't help but buy stuff because I'm used to buying myself stuff all the time so now I just but for him he has more clothes than me now just up to size 12 months & plenty of shoes....its way more than what he needs but I, just got a lot stuff for my shower
  • I didn't and she is just fine. I washed some but not all. I was kinda living in a bad situation and my bf lost his job so we really didn't have the money for a laundry mat.
  • @krazymomofadrian yea until pregly I didn't know anyone did that I'm a ftm so now I might wash some but not all for sure
  • The only ones I washed were the used and didn't some of those I want sure by the time she was born which were washed and which weren't. I also nested really bad so I held all her clothes and blankets so I didn't want to wash the me smell out of them. I probably should have but didn't. I waked all of the garage sale clothes and disinfected the toys.
