This is normal, right?! **UPDATE in comments**

I'm 30+2 with #2 and started having sharp stabbing pain in my lower abdomen about an hour ago. It woke me up from a nap, so I've been drinking tons of water and left siding it since. Now I'm just cramping and nauseous, but feeling some pressure down there. I don't remember feeling this way with #1 and it didn't feel like contractions or round ligament pain. I know a call to my doc means a trip to labor and delivery and I really don't want to have a wasted trip. I've had some pre term labor scares and am on modified bed rest, but my last check at 27 weeks my cervix was high and closed and haven't had any "real" contractions since then. Any thoughts?

  • Thank you ladies! I'm sure its fine, but I'm kinda scared too.
  • Is it in your left side? I have that and they told me I was constipated and it was a blockage. Could be ligament pain also though.

@lilbit01_209 I wish it were constipation, but (knock on wood) I've been very regular this pregnancy. I go a couple times a day. It's from the left side, but goes to the middle and/or right side of my lower abdomen (below my belly button) .
  • Hmmmm... I dont know then. Sorry.
  • Thank you for the bump @kristaf22! I'm still feeling pretty crappy...I'm going hold out for some pregly advice a little longer and then call my doc.

*****UPDATE***** Went to triage last night and those cramps showed up as contractions on the monitor. I got some magnesium and was monitored for a while and they went away. I was home 5 hours later.
