  • I actually quit smoking cigarettes when I was 17. I was taking a super weird antidepressant that made me reject anything toxic. No cigarettes, no beer, etc. Kind of a weird story, just thought I'd share :)
  • My wife is still smoking into her thirteenth week. I would love it if she quit but she has only cut down. That is better than nothing but it is still smoking. Think of your baby, that has to help a little.
  • My fiancee made me quit straight away but i still have the odd one when at work so had around 2-3 a week, also my mam quit by smoking menthol cigs then eventually just subsituted them for polos or something that tasted minty
  • I quit right around 8 wks. Tried but to make a big deal about it, when I was out of cigs I knew I was done. That was about 3 wks ago. The first few days were not bad but when the withdrawl symptoms kick in around day 4 it could be tough. Luckily the smell of cig smoke made me want to get sick so I used that to my advantage. Its not easy, but being a good parent isn't easy either. When I tell my child thee is nothing I wouldn't do for them I want to mean it. It still can be tough, but if you are a strong person you can handle it. Good luck! I know you can do it
  • I have been smoking for 3 years. Its really hard for me to quite and at 20 weeks ive cut back to 1-2 a day but i stress a lot over EVERYTHING and I'm still reaching for my goal to be 100% smoke free within a month u cant quit cold turkey even my during said not to do that just imagine when ur baby gets here "first kisses are better smoke free"

  • I quit smoking cigs cold turkey when I found out...I pretty much wanted to kill myself because of stress. I eventually started using marajuana..I don't smoke it I vaporize so there are no harmful effects on my baby but I did it because the stress of my fathers illness and the work I was doing cigarettes are so bad for your child though.
  • Some people don't have children with breathing problems even if they smoke all throughout their pregnancy but you never know what you could be doing

@rachelmt How does vaporize help? Jw not asking to criticized or anything?? ;)
  • You can quit cold turkey you just have to have the willpower & strength to do so. Idk any doctor that would prefer you to smoke while your pregnant. Your chances of miscarriage due to stress of quitting smoking are far less then the chances of smoking causing effects to your unborn child. I was a smoker & get it we want to make excuses for our habits but we can't do that. Today is the day you can day no more & do what's best for you & your baby! Hold yourself accountable & don't allow yourself to make excuses. If you need support I would be happy to be there for you.
  • It gets rid of the actual smoke that's the only thing that can harm the baby. And its okay I understand people might not understand or agree but alot of research was done and also talked to my doc.
  • Also gets rid of the butane chemicals from the lighter its 100% better then actually smoking and surprisingly a lot of prego woman do it to relax.
  • Quitting sucks I have cut back but its hard at work don't fret it it only makes quitting harder
  • Thank you everyone I appreciate all the feedback and I plane to b smoke free real soon I think its from the nasty refries lol if you havnt Tryd w smoking nasty refries I really think it helps to not want to smoke, there yucky! goodluck girls and congrats to all of you who have already quit! (:
