Anyone not take the 3 hr glucose test?
Ok I have taken 3 one hour glucose test, and passed all 3. But the last test was kinda close but still passing. My doctor still wants me to take the 3 hour test, just to be safe. I called to set up the appointment today and the lady said I had to take it Thursday or wait 3 weeks because she's booked up. The appointment would be at 945 and I wouldn't be aloud to eat anything after 11pm the night before. So I can't eat for around 15 hours, and I have to stay setting in the lobby, I was wanting to go across the street and set with my boyfriend while he dose dialysis. So has anyone just not done the 3 hour test, when doctor told you to?

After my morning sickness went away with my daughter I felt fine. Health wise I felt good, I was just sore (We all know about that lol)
Anyway my Doctors office is now a "teaching office" (Yes, awesome....) No matter how many times I plead to get one of my three MAIN family Doctors they ignore me...
So I was at my appointment with a woman I was seeing for the first time, which happened EVERY appointment. She pulled out her measuring tape and attempted to "measure the baby" I was about 30 weeks pregnant. She looked at me when she was done and said this;
"You have a very big baby! It is already 10 pounds. Obviously you have gestational Diabetes because even though you're not gaining a lot of weight, the baby is. I'm sending you in for the 3 hour test, we aren't even bothering with the preliminary ones because I am very certain you have it"
I told her I felt completely fine and that I was just at an ultrasound the day before and they said the baby was actually on the smaller side. She ignored me and filled out the papers (Incorrectly which resulted in me waiting an extra 45 minutes to do the test while they faxed the correctly made up papers) and I had to do the test.
I got the results back and she was 100% wrong!!
I got myself a midwife even though I was so far along... Best thing I could have ever done.
My Daughter was 7 pounds 4.8 ounces born at 38 weeks. I knew in my gut that I was completely fine and I honestly should have listened to it and not starved my pregnant self, drank that sugar crap, and feel completely terrible for 3 hours, for some trainee Doctor. It just doesn't seem natural, and I'll know better this go around.
