This worries me because dh sister died from sids and his entire family has severe sleep apnea. His mom wears a mask, his brother is supposed to and dh refuses to get checked. He stops breathing a lot in his sleep so I don't get much sleep at night elbowing him into breathing again -_-
This terrifies me!! My friends baby died at 4 months, that was the hardest thing to go through...u should never have to bury ur baby! Rip baby Jade and all the others! As far as blankets, they have those blanket sleep sacks and they come in different materials depending on how warm u want them to be, that's what I use. I also have a monitor that goes under the mattress that detects sound and movement at all times...if there's neither sound or movement an alarm goes off to alert me!!! Gives me a little piece of mind but Id still never let my guard down!
Thank u hunni i wasnt too sure wat sids actually stood for buh my eldest brother died of cot death at 6weeks ive never wanted too ask my mum wat u can do too prevent it incase she feels she didnt prevent it :-\
With my first I couldnt sleep thinking about this, is such a scary thing.. I wonder how people in the old times took care of their babies without knowing so many things we know today.
@Bentleysmommy there's actually a lot of mixed reviews on it. There's books that say it's okay and some that say that it can cause aids. I personally wouldn't chance it.
@monkey_girl a lot of doctors have mixed responses about sleeping with baby some say that they think that it is safer for you to sleep with baby others say not.
Oh my! Some of these stories really scared me! Like the baby in the carseat passing from sids. I thought it only happened in the middle of the night while they were sleeping! Anyone have one of the breathing monitors? That was one of the first things I bought
Before I write this i'm totally not bashing co sleeping. But I heard that it's super hard to get them to sleep on there own when there older@what point do you stop co sleeping? What's too old for them to co sleeping
@stella I'll start letting him sleep in his pac n play next to my bed when he's around a year old. The risk of sids drops dramatically after they turn 6 months, but I'm still paranoid about it. And then once he's a l little older, he'll have his crib that turns into a bed in his room. I think it'll be more of me weening myself off of having him in my bed than vice versa lol. I'll probably cry the first night he sleeps in his own room. I'm such a baby :P
SIDS scares me to death. I wake up in the middle of thennighy to make sure my son is still breathing! Idk what id do with out him! Hes almost 4 months old.
@stella My friend co sleeps with her daughter and she cant get her into her crib.
@Mommy2IsaiahNGiselle Exactly. If i dont have anyone here and i have to take a shower, I put him in his carseat and set him on the bathroom floor hahaha. My mom thinks I'm crazy.
