@bettymomma That's Why I never used hot water method.
I actually used room temp water. I would buy gallons and just keep it in the pantry. So even if I was out he was used to room temp I didn't have to find a way to warm the bottle. If he had leftover formula you have to refrigerate it so when he would want more that's when I would put it in the microwave. To take the chill off the formula.:)
@bettymomma I bet it depends on the type of bottles used. I used the drop-in bottles where the liners were directly touching the water. It probably got heated faster because there was less of a barrier.
You are supposed to warm them in a jug of hot water but I have used the microwave on occasion. Take the teat off and shake regularly to get rid of any hot spots. Hot water method safest though, even though it takes a little longer
Also don't get into the habit of warming the milk every time, my friend had trouble whenever we went out trying to find somewhere to warm a bottle up, her daughter liked it really warm too!
@Mommy2IsaiahNGiselle yep! I breastfed for 8 weeks, then went onto bottles but wouldn't always heat them. My poor friend has a fussy daughter for feeding anyway, sometimes she wouldn't take a lot and she would panic and the heat thing did her no favours!!
I just leave the gallon on water out like in my pantry or on the counter. So the whole gallon is room temp. Then pour however many ounces of water into the bottle then add the scoop of formula.:)
It's not a dumb question. I had to ask around when I first had my son
I know you are not suppose to use microwave but I did Lol and always make sure its not so hot !!! And yes one the baby get use to its a pain my daugther is soon to be 5yo ,and still don't want cold or room temperature milk
With my step daughter I would microwave the water only for 15-20 seconds add the formula after and shake it. I always tested it first but that seemed to be the perfect time, until she got to 4 ounces, then I switched to 25 seconds in the microwave. Just add the powder after cause water gets heated evenly.

I heard to Heat water and put the bottle in the water. Let it sit till the formula is warm... but doesn't that take a long time?

( I know you weren't talking to me, but I also said I didn't think the hot water method didn't work well, just depends on what bottles you are using
