Can ANYONE friggin' tell me...

Why people are so gosh darn ignorant? I didn't know in order to be pregnant & 'acceptable' I had to meet a certain age requirement -_- News flash! Age doesn't define a Mother, her actions do*

Anyone else feel like they need to wallow around in guilt for any reason just because others say so?!

Just needed to vent (; && strike up conversation!

  • Before Pregly I thought down on young mom's. Pregly has helped my ignorance and I'm glad!!:))))
  • I had my daughter at sixteen :/ Super young, & super stupid apparently... But, I am twenty now & my second one is due in October* & people are always staring at me & making rude gestures. It makes me SO mad!

I am graduated from high school, almost done with my Nursing Degree, & work for a respectable company. It's not like I am not being responsible for my actions. I LOVE being a Mom, even if I am a little younger then most (:
  • I feel like I shouldn't be allowed to be excited about being pregnant (it was not planned, birth control failed) I am only 15 and everyone reminds me of it EVERYDAY. I know its going to be hard but does everyone have to remind me of it EVERYDAY. Sometimes I don't even want to leave the house because I get harassed by strangers about how young I am.
  • @shelshay I got pregnant at fifteen & was terrified to tell anyone. I never wanted to leave, & was so ashamed of myself. But, my family was SO supportive & I also didn't have the baby's dad in my life. But, here I am three years later SO proud of myself & my daughter. You can only go up from where your at if you try! It's hard but very rewarding in the end when you prove all of those people wrong who brought you down! :D
  • Imagine the looks I get... I'm 18 n my 17 year old cousin is 6days less pregnant than I am.. therefore people want to automatically assume we did it on purpose and we are trash... I have better things to worry about then their judgements. Just put a smile on doll & good luck %%-
  • Honey I'm 35 with my second and people act stupid with me too!! You know ur strengths, don't worry about judgemental morans
  • Im 27 I always think the same... maybe there not looking down at us we just think they are. Also I had my daughter at 18 n people still think were sisters! Now that gets old! I had someone tell me hoe noble I was for taking her in! Wtf they thought our patents died or were crackheads!

People always have something to say, they talk shit about young mom and they talk shit about women who decide to be way older to have their kids, the best thing to do is to ignore them :)
  • I was 21 when I had my first which to me is not. Young but apparently to some it is. By 24 I had 3 kids and now at 28 am having my 4th. Don't listen to what other people think. The worst has to be my husbands family!
  • Im 20 and just had my first. she's 9weeks. i have had no one say anything to me at all. think its because i have a pissed off face ALL the time!! haha! no one will dare say anything. mind you, someone once said i was a single mother, living in a council house and that i live off everyone else's money! i soon put them straight as its not true. they just assumed because of my age. but that's all that's ever been said to me!
  • @jay_brad I get the same looks with my bestfriends who are my 'sisters' all three of us are pregnant. Never planned and we all found out within months of each other that we were pregnant. (I knew right away cause the condom broke andi was paranoid lol they didn't til about 2/3months in). I'm 19 and they are both 18. One is due sept. 17th and the other is due Oct. 28th. I'm due Jan. 8th. Its funny that we all get looks from people. I just stare back and laugh (: cause who are they to judge us?? They don't know anything about our lives.

I do find it funny whe people think you will be a terrible mother because of your age, or think they will be a great mother because of their age. When age has NOTHING to do with it. Its your maturity level. And the way you precieve motherhood. Trust me I know teen moms who are shitty. Party all the time and can't care for their kids properly. But I also know teen moms who are great parents and do everything right by their child. And treat themselves right. So its all about who the person is. Not their age. I also think education has a lot to do with being a good parent. If you get as much education as you can about babies and raising them, then I think you will have a better chance in being successful. (Not you personally but everyone in general) lol
  • I was 17 with my first I think it was better for me to get pregnant when I did having him made me the responsible person I am now. :)
  • I just turned 20 & having my first but when I started seeing the dr she would make faces at me & my husband & at one point she was like amazed that we were married she didn't believe me. I told her I carry my marriage license in my purse if she would like to see it like if my id wasn't enough proof it only says his last name. Lol & in public when strangers see us & ask about the baby there like are y'all married just cause we don't wear rings. Hubby's ring is very broken & literally hanging by a thread lol I hate his job & well my fingers are too swollen.
  • Btw in person I look no older then 16 & well my husband yeah he looks about 30 so imagine all the dirty looks we get lol
  • I get a whole lot of comments cuz I had my 1st bby at 19, my 2nd baby at 20 an now at 23 I'm on my 3rd bby. Alota the comments r cuz my oldest 2 r 10months apart, more comments cuz im only 23 havin a 3rd bby. I am proud 2 say, unlike a lot of girls in my area that I knw, all my kids r by the same man, I'm married to my kids father, an was married b4 we even had our 1st, alota ppl assume we got married cuz I was pregnant. People r ignorant. Jus smile at them an let them make ther selves look even more dumb :)
  • People are so ignorant to help you appreciate all of the folks who are caring, intelligent, and sensitive. They are the human equivalent of rainy days. They help you appreciate the sunny days. That AND they give you a good upper body workout while you perfect your THROAT PUNCH technique! :ar!
  • I don't feel bad. If they have a problem o well, they are shit out of luck. I don't give a rats butt. They'll be looking stupid. So nope, I don't feel bad. I know what I have for myself.
