how can i tell the difference

I've never had a yeast infection...but I bought some monistat cuz I had some white stuff and a bit of uncomfortable and itching...so anyway...I'm worried that it could be a bacterial infection and that it cam cause preterm labor? It's getting worse...I just did the first dose...any one have experience with this cuz I have no idea Wuts going on with me, I have nothing to.compare it to and I'm freaking out a little.

    I've had a yeast infection but never bacterial infection so I'm not sure of the difference either. I'm pretty sure @OregonMama is familiar with the sypmptoms or signs BI (OregonMama-- if I have the wrong person, sorry!!!). Maybe she can help you out.

    They are very similar.. BV usually has a fishy smell, along with itchiness, and discharge. To me, a yeast infection is a ba-Jillion times more itchy, tho.

    It doesn't have a smell....but when I scratch it kinda hurts..burns...I guess....oh I'm so miserable....should I call the doctor tomorrow or wait for my appt on Tuesday?

    You'll just be miserable until Tuesday.. I think I heard somewhere that they have at home tests for yeast infection. Maybe ask your pharmacist about that if you just want to wait it out. It sounds like a yeast infection to me, so the cream should help.. take a warm bath, dry off REALLY good, put some of the cream on, and sleep with loose or no panties. Good luck hon!
