Breast fed baby poop pleas read if u have time

how often does ur baby poop? how old is ur baby? my 2 month old poops every three days. well she hasnt pooped since saturday, and i called the nrse hotline and basically got told she'll poop when she has two. every time she tries she starts screamin like she's in pain. she also said she can go a week without pooping. does anyone actually have a baby that only goes once a week? also she will poop like 2-3 times the third day.

    hm if she is waiting to poop and then goes a few times when she finally does i would say that's not all that normal. i would make an appt with the doc and bypass the nurse. also, yes, it is true that 1 wk is ok for a breastfed baby to go without pooping. every baby is different. when i breastfed my first two they pooped all day long it felt like!

    I am currently waiting to hear bck from her dr. If he doesnt call me back soon im just taking her to urgent care cuz the last two nights she has tried poopin ( the first night bein on her normal schedule) and she started screaming like she was hurting. I tried gas drops tummy massage. she willl rotate between demanding she have pressure on her tummy to screaming if you touch it i feel so bad for her

    also on her three day schedule she has no problem pooping and doesn't act lke she is in pain

    I give my son probiotocs. He never goes more than 3 days w/ out pooping.

    I had this same problem momma!! Even posted about it.baby shouldn't go more then a week without pooping. But breastfed babys sometimes don't have anything to pass through (poop) because they use it all up if that makes sense. My daughter poops one to two times a week and are usually explosive diapers ha. But its totally okay ;) just be aware of explosive diapers!

    @Rissalee7 have you talked to doctor? My daughter usually gets fussier to before she poops. But doc checked her and felt no lumps in her tummy (backed up/stuck poop) which is good. Does she act like she's trying to poop like pushing and grunting? Look at her butt and see if she's trying to poop that's what my doc said to see if she's constipated

    My two month old only poops once a week. And when she does, its still very soft. She grunts to push out her diarrhea. Lol.

    Bath usually helps maddy I hop in with her n she kicks.away last her on her back seems to help alot

    A breastfed baby is supposed to poop everytime it eats. Baby should also eat every 2-3 hours. If baby isnt doing that call your pedi

    @kritten_octoberbby breastfeed babies can go once a week its normal. all the docs that saw me at the hospital told me that before I was discharged

    She poops every three day's she was a grunting when she was trying I used that apple prune juice got two poops @kritten_octoberbby my pediatrician said breast fed babies don't go that often cuz there's not much waste with breast milk

    All babies aren't the same (obviously) but geez why so many different answers from these doctors?
