Been in early labor for 3 days when will I progress???

So I went in for a routine non stress test and they said I was having contractions every 2-4 minutes they checked my cervix and I was dilated to 3 then the contractions spread out and I got to go home. Since then I have had some pretty painful contractions but nothing that will stay consistent for more than a half hour. Ugh I just want to progress!! Has this happened to anyone else? Staying in the early labor stage so long? It's been 3 days and does anyone have any suggestions on how to progress?

    Me me!! Lol well I started having inconsistent pains yesterday morn. I get them most while lying down. How far are you?? I'm 37wks today. Lost my mucous plug Thursday and some bloody discharge today. I was just saying how long before active freaking labor too!!!!! OMG

    Well I don't think I'm gonna be doing the sex thing. Walking maybe I'll go walking tmw. And guess I'll get back on that stupid ball too, lol.

    @mommyof3tobe I'm so glad I'm not alone!! And same here mostly when I lay down! And I'm 36 weeks & 3 days. I just want this too hurry up!!! Sometimes I'll get some bad contractions but they never last or stay consistent!!!

    Yeah no sex for me either. It hurts. But I'll start walking and oh how I wish I had one of those big birthing balls. Tomorrow is labor day so maybe we wil get lucky lol

    Yeah I don't think I can do the nipple stimulation either, I have no breastpump nad I don't think ima about to let bd touch me in that way at all!! Tmi but I so don't want him touching me like that. Sure his a** wouldn't mind it though.

    Yeah same with my hubby he wouldn't mind but I'm not in the mood and last time we tried I cried because it hurt. And what's all this about nipple stimulation? That can make you go into active labor?

    :( i know the feeling. my last pregnancy was like that. i was dilated to 4cm at 35 wks and had NST's 3 days a week for the last month. it was terrible. to add to that i didn't have him until he was 39 wks old. it was terrible. my contractions were 4-6 minutes apart for the last 8 days. then all of a sudden they stopped- 30 minutes later my water broke.

    I wish my water would break cuz then at least I would know it was time to go in. I'm not very good and timing the contractions

    On the topic of nipple stimulation, and this is prolly a dumb question, but how do you "stimulate" them? Just pinching or rubbing or?

    @misspregger6989 not a dumb question cuz I've never even heard of it so I don't know what they mean either lol and @mommyof3tobe I was thinking that too I was also thinking I might give birth today but unless something changes drastically that won't be taking place lol I have a friend who delivered day before yesterday and one that delivered yesterday so I kind of thought today was my day

    Hmm idk I guess thats what they say about nipple stimulation. Active labor I suppose. Maybe ill try it...idk. but lile girls were saying on another post its not gonna do anything but make me horny!!! Lol I don't wana be horny. That'll be uncomfortably weird. :-|

    yeah i've never heard of nipple stimulation doing anything other than getting you horny and my nipples are sore right now so no thank you lol

    @mspregger6989 yeah I think someone in another discussion about nipple stimulation that was posted earlier said pulling n twisting should do the trick.

    The nipple stimulation needs to be with a pump or like you're expressing breastmilk. The nursing stimulation in your breasts releases oxcytocin which in turn causes the uterus to contract and help push baby down and - crossing fingers - OUT!

    @mommyof3tobe EXACTLY!! Lol after the nurse said that I would just feel wrong having sex. It's probably not at all accurate but I'd feel like he was getting hit in the head lol

    Me too! I've been 4cm and 60% since last Thursday ...I'm 36+5 with twins. I started having consistent contractions last night every 5 minutes so I went in. Got hooked up to everything and they were every 3 minutes but still 4cm. Doc on call decides to stop them and sends me home!!! Grrr..lol. I ready to get these babies out too!!

    I've been in labor since wed night its been hell and back labor is a big bitch but I haven't progressed well last Monday I was a fingertip and 50% effaced and wed I was a fingertip and 70% effaced I go again tuesdy I hope it works out that I'm at least progressing more and I've been doing nipple stimulation by hand today and yes it brings I'm contractions for sure I have had contractions every 2-6 MIN ever since wed and when I was doing the stimulation it got stronger so I hope that helps me allong

    I'm the same way. Went to the hospital on Thursday I was having contractions every 3 to 6 minutes and I was dialated at 2 and 75% but got sent home cuz I wasn't progressing. Then today I've been having contractions all day but they aren't painful. They just recently kinda stopped. I'm so frustrated. I'm 38 weeks.
