She coos in her sleep? Anyone else?

edited September 2011 in Sleep
My daughter will be 2 weeks old tomorrow... and she coos, gurgles, and even shouts sometimes in her sleep. She also has this very twitchy thing she does. I'm not sure if this is normal or not... does anyone else's baby do this??

There may be lots of these posts from me. :P My daughter's brain isn't normal, so things like this worry/concern/confuse me. lol. >_<

My son just laughs in his sleep lol.hes 4 months old.
  • My daughter is 2 months and will giggle and fart in her sleep haha
  • The twitch is only because her nervous system hasnt fully developed yet. 100% normal. I wonder if my baby will coo.. that would be soo cute
  • @Mythica I'm pretty sure that's normal, my son did that all the time for the first few months. I freaked out a little too, I thought he was in pain, but my pediatrician assured me it was ok :)
  • It's totally normal. I've cared for lots of babies and they all do stuff like that in their sleep. My hubby's 43 and STILL does... ;-)
  • My daughter is almost 3 weeks old & she does that alot
  • Yeah lol Bentley "talks", smiles, and poots in his sleep lol.
  • @everyone oh, good! Thanks ladies for your replies.

@kritten_octoberbby their nervous system? Hmmm... I'll make sure her pediatrician or neurologist knows. It might be normal, but they might want to know in case it might help in diagnosing what caused her microcephaly.
  • My daughter is a month old she squeaks like a little mouse and hums in her sleep
  • Lol! My baby does this loud cry-like coo. Just one long coo that sounds like a cry hahaa. She sticks out her bottom lip after. I get so scared! But she also has times where she opens her eyes and looks around but she is asleep. It isnt constant tho. Lol idk, weird baby sleep!
  • My son used to make peep noises. lol It always woke me up...even today, if I sense his presence, I will wake up out of a dead sleep. It's crazy what having babies does to us mommies. lol
