How do u know if your in Labor besides horrible pain?

I've had cramps that just don't go away at all, I feel like I need to potty but I don't I just fart, but no signs of it going away, I was told when you get a contraction your belly gets really hard well mine gets hard but its not painful,what is really bugging me is my cramps!!! So I'm not really sure what my question is but its bugging me any thoughts or suggestions???

    My mucous plug just fell out (tmi) lol! but also my bump dropped loads! It had already dropped when engaged. but had dropped about another 3cm while in labour!

    All you need is the pain and you'll know! Haha. If you can still talk through the pain and it's not making you go into fetal position it's most likely not real labor contractions.

    How far along were u? When I went in to labor with my last two I got pains, cramps feeling like I have to poop and that's all I got..no water breaking, mucous or bloody show. But they got worse n worse... That's when I headed to the hospital

    Omg that's exactly how I feel I'm 38 weeks!!! Mine seem to get worst and when she moves it bugs me doesn't feel good anymore

    time them .. and if they get closer together and last more than two hours.. then it could be real labor.. just keep an eye on it.. and it wont go away..

    I can't really time them its a pain that won't go away but it gets worst I called my Dr he said as long as I can't handle them then go in but I have a high tolerance of pain but does it just on the left lower side?
