it's normal. that's how my son's was. my daughters came off in whole. my son's seemed like it took eon's for it to fall off in pieces. eck! with my first two they didn't want me using anything to allow it to fall off, but i found it interesting when we did the "sibling class" with the older kids that they encouraged alcohol wipes.
If its not red its fine. When my sons was that way I panicked, went to his dr & he said it was fine and if it took longer than 14 days bring him back in. He was fine tho. No alcohol used, just water
