MIL money and casinos!!!

Okay, so I just figured out my MIL is way over charging us on rent and utilities. I spoke to my SIL who said when it comes to money my MIL is evil and wouldn't hesitate to make it all to her advantage. She did it to her and her family and my BIL and his family before them. My MIL complains to me about how my FIL doesn't make enough money to pay the mortgage each month and yet she goes to the freaking casino all the freaking time! I'm stressing about my husband and I affording our regular bills and medical bills and she's blowing all this money at the f*cking casino?!?!?! She picked up my FIL at one casino and now they're at another one!!! WTH is going on?!?! How can someone do that to their own family that they claim they care for?! Then turn around and b*tch about having no money?!?! The whole point of us moving in here was to save money for a down payment on a house. As of right now we are negative. There is no possibility of moving out... And she knows that. I don't want to hate my MIL, but this is just sick.

    Do you live in Vegas??? My husbands grandma was exactly the same she wool get paid and stay at the casino then come home with a sob story how she doesn't have enough to pay the bills it's like WTF!!! What's sad is that she got her retirement check about 30 thousand and was going to Chile and buy a house but nooo the casino took over and she left broke!!!!

    @smcox @mandac10 my husband told me when they bought this house several years ago they bought it for like 30 or 40 thousand. Good deal. But they refinanced so many times for "home improvements" that weren't really done (his quotations not mine) that they now owe three or four times the value of the house. He this she's blown somewhere like 50 thousand at the casino over the last decade. She also feels her retirement is HER money and hers alone to spend on the casino. That it should be put towards anything else bcuz she earned it. Which is bs, cuz UK pretty sure our over priced everything is what's keeping them afloat bill wise. I am 99% sure there is no way she would ever go to a gambleholics anonymous thing. Gambling at the casino is pretty normal for my husbands side of the family. It sucks.

    Wow! Ur poor granny! Its sick how this happens! I went to a casino and won $600! It was fun but u have to limit urself and walk away! Leave ur cards at home and only take what u can spare! I feel so bad for these people! Its just like a drug addict or alcoholic!

    @grissy_barria That's the sad thing, no we aren't in Vegas! Washington! Seattle freaking Washington! that is super sad about the gma... Did she just owe too much and they took it from her retirement?? my MIL just opens up another credit card and maxs that one out too. Idk how many she has, but apparently they're all maxed out.

    Aww... it's a shame she's blowing her cash on this! I mean nothing to show or anything! She should be seeing the world for her retirement not getting into debt! I really feel for these people! I have a bit of a drinking problem and know what its like. I swear int time I don't drink is pregnant!

    @mandac10 See, I think that too, but on the other hand I think... How can u not have a wake up call when u lose $100? $200? I went one time with my MIL to the casino and we spent 8 hrs there. She lost $800!! How do u do that?? I lose $50 and I'm like ok... Can I really afford to play anymore?? Realistically?

    Sounds like everyone pretty much enables her behavior.... If she's not the one bringing in money, then why does she have any $ for a casino?

    @ceegsmommy75 She controls 100% of her and my FIL's money. He doesn't question her at all and never knows how much money or debt theyre in. She gives him $40/week plus $10/day to spend. She is a crazy control freak.

    She is currently angry with me bcuz I want my husband (who is 29) to be off their cell phone plan and join mine. I want him to join my auto insurance (he has to have the Sr22 and she has him believing bcuz she cosigned for the loan on his car that they have to be on the same insurance) and also that we want to see a copy of the discover credit card bill we give her money for each month (I guess its for things she purchased for my husband when he didn't have money). But those three things she is.charging us $750 for and I don't believe that is a correct amount. She is mad bcuz she won't have control.of the money anymore. She she's mean. I told my husband we are married, we are having a baby in a week, we rent the downstairs and that's the only bill we should share with ur parents. The rest we are responsible for. Mostly just I am tired of being d*cked around and being broke bcuz she wants casino money!

    She came to Chile with about 3 thousand :( it's so sad and she has no home and is living at her daughters house

    @mandac10 I was really taken by surprise yesterday when my husband was telling me not to tell too much to my SIL bcuz if she gets in an argument with my MIL and will use anything I say in any possible way to get back at my MIL in the argument bcuz "she's a spiteful vindictive b*tch, just like my mom". So he called both his sister and mom that... I didn't say anything but... Was just like W O W

    Omg! Well sometimes u need to get away from bad influences... even family. My husbands family are all stoner's and even grow there own. My husband joined the army cause he wanted a better life and knew he would get brought down too.

    @mandac10 Good for him! He sounds like a strong and smart man! I'm just happy my husband recognizes the problem. It's hard tho bcuz I feel.like I'm kind of taking the "I love my mommy she's great" veil off his eyes. I know he knows certain problems are there, but I think I'm forcing him to do something about it now. I feel almost mean, if that makes sense?

    I understand what ur saying! I put my foot down with my husband. He's getting medical retirement due to his lung damage from his cancer and I told him o refuse to move back home. I told him our marriage would fail because he would be going back to all the problems he was trying to get away from in the first place. At first he was upset but now he really sees it. We plan on living about five hrs away from everyone so we still can visit our friends and family bit far enough away they can't just stop bu and bring there madness. Its a good thing he sees what's going on and its good ur showing him. Don't push to hard ull push him against u. If its this bad they will revel themselves and he'll get it. Sometimes distance is the best thing and will bring everyone closer in the end.

    @mandac10 You know its funny, that is what my husbands oldest brother and sister did. They live I think approx 4 hours away. We dont see them much. My SIL (the sister that's only a bout a year older than my hubby) said its bcuz they cant stand my MIL and don't want their kids around her. And my SIL doesnt bring my neices over to the house much either... >_< I'm starting to see a trend...

    @Cristinalynn its a nice thought, but i work in a clinic in Bellevue and my husband works 15 mins away from this house. we spent about $1500 redoing the downstairs for baby girl bcuz it was just filthy nasty 10+yr old poorly kept carpeting. We put in hardwood floors and bought some area rugs so baby girl doesnt develop some sort of breathing disease. His parents really didn't keep the house maintained at all. It's an older house but its in shambles. I feel mean saying this but half the time upstairs in their half of the house I feel dirty just being there. It's always dirty like she doesn't wipe up messes when she makes them or throw away garbage when she creates it. I clean the kitchen all the time but then she gets it nasty right away. And I deep cleaned the entey way and hallway about two months ago and the it took me four hours on a six foot entry way. The wipes i used on the walls were black/brown and it was just... Sorry, I'm rambling.

    @alilboulding I am contacting my husbands oldest brothers wife, they lived here before my SIL I guess, and im going to ask her what exactly happened. if they were getting ripped off or if my SIL is totally over exaggerating and what not. I'm leaning towards the probably not side... but I want to get my facts straight rather than assume and start really disliking my mil for wrong reasons... but the.money blown at the casino... That is yeah... For sure. they didnt come home until 330a last night. They were at a casino from 8 or 9... maybe even 7p. Smh. Ridiculous.
