34 weeks, & not very big.

edited February 2011 in Third Trimester
im gettin tired of everyone asking me how many weeks I got left then say well you better start gaining weight. Ive only gained 13 pounds so far but lost more. Really sick for the first 6 months. It makes me feel bad bc I try to gain weight. Does this mean my son will be little? But my doctor anit worried. Does anyone else have this problem.

  • I'm not that far along yet so no I don't have that problem. Keep in mind that the AVERAGE weight gain is 30 lbs but plenty of women gain well below or above that. Screw everyone else. Just listen to your doc. I will say that in month 8 I POPPED. I had already gained like 20 pounds but just when I thought my stomach couldn't get any bigger...
So just wait and see what happens over these next 6 weeks. It doesn't sound like you have anything to worry about. I bet those other folks were just jealous cause they gained like 60 lbs when they were pregnant!
  • Ya I think people should mind their own business lol I'm 30ish weeks and people freak out over how small my belly is... as long as ur Dr says your measuring great and you're healthy its nothing to worry about..tell em to leave you alone!
  • I wouldn't worry about it if your doctor isn't worried. And you've said that you've been pretty sick for most of your pregnancy so that could be why you haven't gained very much weight, as long as baby is fine and moving. I just got weighed today and I have only put on 2kg this whole time and I'm 36 weeks on Wednesday and I've been eating like a pig for weeks! So I'm sure everything is fine with you. :-)
  • Thanks. It jus makes me feel bad bc I try my hardest to gain weight and dont. Im not sick anymore and I eat like crazy. But still no weight gain. My doctor says the babys gaining all the weight. I hope so.
  • My moms friend only gained 10 pounds bc she is very petite and had a 7lb baby. Nothing to worry about.
  • Don't worry to much abt what others say, people love to comment on anything as if they were experts. The only thing that matters is if you eat when you are hungry, a varied & well balanced diet & what your doctor says. Everything else is noise that you should ignore. Don't let anybody stress you out.
  • Girl! Don't listen to them! I'm 28 weeks and I'm 12 lbs lighter then when I started! As long as your baby is healthy and your healthy ......that's all that matters! :">
  • I've had a problem similar to that. The only thing is that I've actually gained alot of weight. Close to 40 lbs and I'm still tiny. People who are due two months after me are way bigger. I was about 20 lbs under weight before I got preg tho and I look normal now. I just ignore what everyone else says and go about my business. My dr isn't worried really. He seems to think its mostly water weight.
  • Thanks, I jus got back from the doctor. He says im measuring alittle faither along then I am. Which is werid he said it dont matter how far my belly sticks out its how tall my uterus is. So he said everything is greatt. :)
