anyone get/getting induced

edited September 2011 in Pregnant
I'm thinking I would like to be induced at 39 weeks...no earlier....but I have migraines almost every day...my anxiety is.coming back full force...my blood pressure.is a little high...I just am sick of being pregnant and sick all the time!! Has anyone done this? Any suggestions on when/what I can do to get labor going on its own? Any thots? Reasons I should/shouldn't do this??

  • I did it 2 times at 39 wks I'm hoping to go by myself this time those contractons were jus horrible I hope its bettr thus time
  • @Mrs_Jackson2anpreggo do u think it was more painful cuz u induced? I've heard that but my doc says that's only when u weren't starting anything at all...like a little dialated/effaced.
  • I'm getting induced Sunday. I'll be 39+2. I'm nervous.. but my baby measuring big and doc and I think its a good idea.
  • @babiescomin2011 r u showin ANY signs of labor? How far ahead of time did u and ur doc decide this?
  • About 2 weeks ago..we were talking about how he's measuring big and since this is my first he suggested induction. I'm having nonstop braxton hicks like every 9 min and I've noticed an increase in discharge the past few days.
  • I was at 3 an 65% effaced my labor went quickly but hurt so bad I've heard inducing is more painful so I'm trying without pitocin this time I'm curious to c if its true lol
  • I'm getting induced tomorrow at 38+1. My blood sugars are still all over place and she's already 8lbs
  • I hope she just comes a little early on her own!!! Is that too much to ask for??? Haha
  • I was induced with both of mine. I liked the predictability of it. Once at a week late and one 4 days early. Both successful :)
  • I'm being induced right now. Everything has been going well so far.
  • @k_babix0 how r things goin now??
  • I'm being induced at 39.2weeks so that's Tuesday. My due date isn't until Sept.25 but my Dr is inducing me because he is leaving for vacation.
  • @K_babix0 I'm being induced tomorrow, please let us know how urs goes!!
  • I was induced @ 38wks for medical reasons and it was a piece of cake tho I used an epi. 7hrs start to end. I have a high pain tollerance tho.
  • @NewMomInSept
I actually have a thread open right now and its really detailed of my induction today. Its called My induction journal! :)
  • @k_babix0 thanks!! I'll read it!! I'm nervous!!
  • @NewMomInSept
I was scared too I can't and won't lie. I almost gave.up but I got that final burst and I was so relieved. I just put my thoughts on finally seeing him
  • @k_hbabix0 Yeah, my MIL keeps telling me horror stories about how her epidural didn't work and all the pain she was in also... Soever time I get kind of ok about it.. here she comes with her stories... >_<

@everyone To anyone here did they tell you to not eat before going in or anything? Right now it is 820p where I am. The hospital is going to call me between 6a-7a to let me know what time I should check in, and I'm just worried ill eat at like 5a and then they'll tell me to come in at 630a and they'll be mad I ate at 5a...

@mamajtall I'm sry but I have to say that must be the worse reason tp induce I've ever heard!!! Doctors really do that???? I'm horrified..... :-(
  • @newmominsept they told me not to eat or drink after midnight the night before.
@nicoleok87 yeah its kind of sad but I'm glad he is waiting til as late as possible to induce me. He is leaving Friday for vacation. I think he's an amazing Dr tho, I've never once felt uncomfortable with him or anything. I'm a ftm
  • Wow, just wow. Does anyone believe in a "natural" birth anymore? Induction is not as great as it sounds, I have done both.
  • @mamajtall well that's good....it just seems like a weird reason...but I wouldn't want anyone but my doctor to deliver me either.....
