issues with diaper size for my son whos a newborn and a week old

He is currently a wk old. It seems newborn diapers are tight around his legs and are leaking through his newborn diapers. I tried huggies and pampers. But if I go up a size its big near his umbilicial cord. So suggestions in what to do?

I would suggest going up a size if he is leaking through and just fold the diaper down so it is not touching his cord

I had to do that with my oldest when she was a week old.

Fold the top of the diaper down so its not touching his cord maybe? Works for ne and it doesn't leak.

I know it sucks when they are in between sizes but it won't last long they grow so fast!

Try luvs or use sixe one thats wat the hospital put my bby in and worked fine

i agree..fold the diaper down..but i think they make diaper where its already cut out for the umbilical cord! but i havent seen them in places like walmart..maybe babies r us?
