my baby hasnt pooped this normal?update

my baby was in the hospiotal the other day for 4 days he had a fever ,they gave him antibiotics and fluids we came home on the 15th of sep today is the 16th is this normal is it maybe cuz of the fluids/antibo.?? Update:hey Guy's he went poopy tonight thanks for all the advice

    Is your baby breast or formula fed? Two days is normal. Babys dont always poop every day. Is he peeing normal? Maybe call the doc to be sure since he had a fever.

    I just asked my pediatrician about this and he said that going 3-5 days can be normal. He said if the baby seems to be uncomfortable then try giving a tablespoon of karo syrup in the bottle three times a day.

    I give my son 1-2oz of pear juice for constopation. Only if he strains to poop.

    My bby is the samew way... Dr said its normal... He gave her " Fleet Pedi-Lax glycerin suppositoories. Mannnnn.... let me tell you in less than aminute( without exaturating) baby will poop... It works miracles!!! Try that!!! Talk to Ped. about it... 100% safe!

    I've heard its not abnormal for baby not to poop for a few days (especially breastfed) @amp907 I've also been told Karo (light or dark) is very dangerous for baby b/c its not pasteurized ...don't quote me but that scares me too much to try it.

    yes @ethansmommy122.... Karo is not safe for babies... was told by drs!

    Really? I've been using Karo syrup because my dr said either try apple juice or Karo syrup and I didn't have any apple juice =/ Maybe I should do some research into this. Karo syrups has been the only thing to help her use the bathroom. She's been so constipated and straining. It's terrible cause she's so uncomfortable.

    I'll be stopping that and switching to pear juice then. I've tried prune juice for myself and it did nothing. I drank a gallon in 5 minutes and it did nothing. Maybe she'd have better luck though lol @ethansmommy122

    I did the thermometer thing and put a lil bit of vaseline on the tip n it worked like a charm! He had not pooped in 2 days n after I did that he pooped within 30 min after doing that
