Ugh acne is back?!

edited September 2011 in Third Trimester
I was so happy when it went away after the first trimester, but now I'm 32 weeks and it's everywhere! :-( I've never had acne before I was pregnant so this is a little traumatic for me lol I've been trying every facial wash and cleanser and nothing is working!

  • Same here. I never got acne before. Im 38 wks an for the past few weeks i'm getting it to. :(
  • Btw I'm 32 weeks today.
  • @emy @hopefulmom2b do you ladies use face wash or anything? I'm determined to find something to get rid of it lol
  • Not sure if you have tried this yet but mine came back to I'm 33 weeks and using a 3 step system with a cleanser, toner and repairing lotion has helped. Also being consistant with the 3 step program and doing it every morning and everynight.. and not leaving makeup on your face for too long like taking a nap or sleeping at night. I've used proactive before and loved it but it can be pricey.. right now I'm using the neutrogena oil free acne wash, toner and repairing lotion... aslo try and stick with one product for at least 2 weeks
  • Mine got worse after I had my son!
  • I've lived with sever acne all my life and what finally helped and worked and cleared it up was just plain dove soap and hot water.

This is what I do (it also helped with my cystic acne)

    1) get a rag as hot and I mean as hot as you can stand it without burning yourself. Place the rag on the affected areas and just let it sit there. Repeat this three to four times. The heat opens your pours and helps draw out the dirt and oil.

    2) take the soap, lather your face and gently work it in

    3) rinse off all soap with warm water

    4) take a rag and get it cold and do what you did with step 1 but with cold water to close the pours.

    5) use acne friendly moisterizer

Your face will be red but that fades within 15 20 minutes (its from the heat)

If you use products be careful with what you use, mixing products can give you the opposite affect because the chemicals that are used some can't be used together. So if you do use more than one item make sure they are the same brand.
I found that less is more. Also it doesn't matter what kind of soap I used a dove sensative skin one
  • mine is the same way. the whole first trimester I had it on my back and then the thiurd trimester had it on my face and now its back on my back again and I never had acne before.
  • Blah you too. I went to pizza face then crater face and back to pizza have. I look like a hormonal teenager and its humiliating
  • I use stridex pads. They work pretty good for me. Im going today to see what kind of scrubs they have.
