I'm 38weeks, went to lnd with contractions but they faded off, mw checked my cervix I'm 1cm really soft and its 2cm long. She said I could well have baby by monday? How can she tell? I had contractions I cudnt feel the day before 8mins apart lasting 30secs but couldn't feel them showed they were ranging from 22-40 on the monitor though, been really crampy/backache and loose bowels too. What do u ladies think?

    I was 1cm dilated and 25% effaced the day I went into labor...and had what were contractions apparently a few mins apart, that I thought nothing of but maybe some cramps from walking too much. Then my water broke, had loose stool, more contractions and had my baby the next day. If they were real contractions, picking up on the monitor, and not bh, thats maybe why she thought you'd go into labor soon.

    @cait_septembermommy ohh that sounds positive! Is it good that my cervix is soft then? Its also posterior. I'm a ftm so not to sure what anything means lol! I had a coughin fit this morning and when I went the toilet my knickers were really wet so not sure if it could have been my waters or pee lol it didn't smell of wee but I've had no contractions just pressure all day :/ :)

    yeah its good that its soft, its getting ready to thin and efface! I'm a ftm mom too. If it was your water...it would have been a big gush or a steady trickle. Or it may just have been extra discharge. Pressure can mean the baby is moving down!
