So ok my neices bday is next weekend and baby will be 3wks n 4days old. What u think about me going out for a few hours maybe 1drink at most? I dont wana seem like a mom trying to move to fast n do too much! I pretty much got my body back besides nothing a lil girdle wont take care of. Whats your thoughts or am i just over reacting? :-?

  • It depends. A couple of hours and a drink sound fine. People will start to look at you weird if you start doing it every night or whatever. But it also depends on you...don't be surprised if you spend half the time you are out wishing you were home or feeling weird about being away from your baby, lol!
  • Do whatever you feel like you can handle and are comfortable with :) Moms need breaks and they are well deserved! Dont over think everything :)
  • "They" say you're (you and baby) supposed to stay inside for six months... I went to my husband's Concert/Award Show five days post-delivery (also delivered naturally). :-P She and I went to church four weeks and two days post-delivery...

  • Thanks u guys didnt wana over do it! But im ready. @laura536 true thats probably all I'll be doing is thinkibg about my lil man @thesmilingbeauty you mean 6weeks right!?? Lol not months!! @cupcake22 I'll only be able to do 1drink being that i BF!;-)
  • I wouldn't take baby bc little kids are germy and icky lol But I'd def go out and have some you time!
  • But yes i went natural too, no csection tears or anything! So im ready!
  • Oh def not taking Baby! @mam082711 its at a club! Putting my gettem girl dress on! Dads gonna keep lil man!
  • I went out for a couple hours with friends when my daughter was 4 days old, it was hard but my boyfriend was going away for 50 days it was hard but the first time she actually stayed over night with my mom was at about 2 1/2 months I called every hour lol
  • OMG :O I thought I was cured of "mommy brain" ... Yes, weeks, not months!!
  • Def go have fun! :-) it'll be fun and stress relieving...but I'm sure you'll miss the little one. I had to go renew my CPR and I was only gone for an hour and I missed my son soo much (he's 19 days old) :-( I guess it's something that gets better with time.
  • @thesmilingbeauty...lmbo i was gonna say what in the heck these ppl expect us to become freaking hermits after giving birth!!??!? Lol
  • @thesmilingbeauty haha I still have "pregnant brain"! I swear some brain cells exited my body when my son was born...and I've not regained them. Haha
  • @mam082711 lol
@mommyof3tobe I am BF, as well, and I am petrified to have even one drink. I rarely have time to pump; so it's highly unlikely I would P&D. :-(
  • @thesmilingbeauty you think 1drink is too many?? Maybe I'll have 0.
  • If you have one drink it would take an hour or 2 to get out of your system. Depends ob how much alcohol it has. I have my first drink when my little one was 4 weeks
  • Do whatever you feel like doing.people are going to judge no matter what. At least its not every weekend. Have fun and enjoy yourself. U deseve it mama!
  • Thanks guys:-)

@proudmommy8789 ok then I'll have one light drink early in evening as soon as i leave home...lol shoot i may as well not drink anything! Lollol

you will enjoy that drink!! i had a smirnoff(sp) green apple bite and i was in heaven!! ive missed it so bad!! lmao
  • Be careful with drinking. If I have ONE drink and wait five hours to nurse, my girl is crying non stop the next day. It's so not worth it for me lol
  • @natashalynn what kind of drink did u have? Was it like a cooler or a liquor? Just trying to get an idea.
  • Oh wait a minute @natashalynn your baby was crying from you not nursing her or from the liquor being in your milk after 5hrs? Sorry im confused...lol
  • Well.. I'm kinda a drink expert now haha. My baby girl was like a month old when I had her stay over night the first time with gma and I got drunk. 12oz beer they say 1 hour out of your system, personally I always waited an extra hour and one liquor drink takes an hpur, like the little glasses from a bar not a big mug drink ha.. And I think she was a couple weeks old when I left her four like 5 hours to go go-karting :( it was horrid I missed her so bad ha. I don't care if people look down on me for having my daughter stay at gma's for a niht so I can get drunk. I watch my baby24 7 so its a treat for me and her because she probably gets sick of me ;)
  • Sorry that was confusing!!! From having liquor. I've tried coolers and wine with terrible results lol
  • Feel free to give it a go. Every baby is different. I'd just suggest drinking on a night where the next day isn't busy with errands or work just in case!
  • @natashalynn wow thats sucks! im sorry. my little on is fine if i wait an hour or 2 before feeding her after a drink. but ive only have smirnoff. not much alcohol in it
  • Lucky you lol. I'm gonna try weaning her in Dec so hopefully by Christmas I can have a drink! I had a blueberries smirnoff and no dice! Lol
