Had sex before your 6 week pp check up? Today at 2:30pm is my appt and my boyfriend and I had sex at 4 weeks pp and last night. Is it something the midwife would expect or be disappointed in? Also, in my last post, I wrote asking if they'll give a pregnancy test so I will be able to safely start my birth control that they'll prescribe today. New question... would they be able to tell so soon if its only been 2 weeks since we had sex? Im just scared ill start taking it and if its possible I could be pregnant, id harm it by not knowing and that's something I don't want to happen. Thanks! :)

    1. You have to wait 6wks? I was only told 4wks. So I see no harm
    2. I'm not sure if they'll give you a test but I'm pretty sure it will be too soon. To tell.
    3. I do t think it would harm baby if you were pregnant, but wont you have to wait til your next period to start your birth control?

    I had sex at 5 weeks pp and I told my midwife she just asked how was it lol apparently after delivery you can be dry down there for the first couple times so she just told me to use lube if I needed and they were concerned with protection so I didn't get pregnant so soon

    @soontohavethree oh, im not sure about the birth control. I've never been on it. That's why im nervous about having sex then starting something. Lol

    @ARand89 Haha that'd be awkward :-P I wasn't dry but we didn't use protection because we took the baby to his moms house so she could play with her and we decided to nap and that didn't happen. Lol

    We used the pull out method..we aren't big on condoms (that's how I got my beautiful daughter in the first place ;))

    @ARand89 Haha! The thing is that we don't use that method either... THAT'S how my beautiful daughter got here. lol! :"> We planned to use your method but when the time came.. we just couldn't do it. *sigh*

    Yeah we usually don't pull out either but I told him we weren't having sex unless he would so he tried I just couldn't imagine getting prego so soon after I had her! I have the mirena now but get that out Thursday and I'm going on the pill bc of my complications with the mirena

    @Mnbaby3 I bled for six weeks after getting it put in after bleeding stopped horrible stabbing pain (which stopped after a week) then I read this http://www.aboutlawsuits.com/mirena-iud-13909/ and I don't want to risk the potential serious things that could happen such as eptopic pregnancy, and maybe not being able to have another child! Too big of a chance to take..I made the mirena decision because it was a no maintenance birth control that I could get removed in a few years when ready for another child, but the serious things on that website scares me

    I got my birth control at the hospital when I left after having my daughter, not sure why all doctors don't do that... I'm 7 weeks pp but sex hurts like crazy so didn't even matter that I got bc early :(

    @akmommy yeah, what your dr did sounds like the best thing. Im sorry its painful still. I couldn't wait so I attempted and so happy I was ok. Lol

    @jtmoon98 yeah, I hope they give me a blood test. Keep a lookout... if you see a post screaming BFP and my name is attached, ill need some support. Lol

    @jtmoon98 well she did my exam and I told her I've been spotting so she said" its your period you're not pregnant." My bf was relieved but sadness hit me for some reason. No more heartbeat appts, no more ultrasounds... :( im so glad I have my daughter but being pregnant for 41 weeks makes me miss feeling a baby kick, etc. Any advice?

    My dr just gave me PP instructions saying none until 3 wks, and when comfortable. I wouldnt worry. But I WOULD be honest and tell them its possible you could be pregnant, so they are aware before starting BC. I wouldnt stress telling doc. :)

    @cicelia I told them but she said my bleeding is my period but I am not sure. :-/ it's not heavy at all and hardly pad worthy.

    @jtmoon98 I know! I wish they would've tested me just in case. I told her because I had sex at 4 weeks PP and last night and she's like "sense you're having a period, you're not pregnant" but... My mom had her period with 3 of my siblings and she had 4 total. Would you hold off on bc for a bit (I don't have it yet. There was an issue with my ins) as well as sex if this blood stays minimal? If I still don't bleed much, would 2 weeks be good to test? And yeah, I want to give my baby all of me but the thought of no more doctor visits for me is sad. Lol although... I'm fine with no more dilation checks. Haha :-P
