How many oz a 2wk old should be eating?

I know it varies, but just need some answers & advice please! Ive been strictly breastfeeding and only pumped about 5 times so far. For the past couple days my son is literally on my breast 24/7! He falls asleep during feeding so I burp him & try to lay him down & he wakes up still hungrY, its an all day game weve been playing. HELP PLEASE!! This has been going on for 2 days! I feel like maybe im not ptoducing enough milk. So I pump so I can see how much I get & only manage to get almost an ounce per breast. My pump isnt a top notch one so maybe not adequate enough to see how much I can get. My sil is gonna let me borrow hers so just in case I can get,more with that one, I wanna know how many oz my 2wk old should be eating.

    I also have a 2 week old and I was concerned my baby wasn't getting enough as well I met with a breastfeeding counseler and they said that your breast is going to produce what's right for baby also. Is he growing or has he grown or gained wieght since the hospital that's another way to tell also have baby on a schedual maybe its that he is used to eating every hr and he probably only eats or drinks an hr woth o breast milk. I'm also doing the strictly breast and omg I love it I'm down to my pre preg wieght and stopped bleeding tmi I know

    Btw my son gets about 4 oz every feeding.

    Yea im going to pump so I am able to track & make sure he is eating enough.

    I see what your saying but hes ALWAYS HUNGRY & even isnt sleeping much at all because of it. The 1st wk he gained 7 oz then at his 2nd appt 5 days later he only gained 2 so I know somethings up.@e_n_j

    He's just cluster feeding. It will pass in a few days. It's annoying but when they hit growth spurts they cluster feed for a few days at a time.

    My 2 week old eats between 3 1/2 to 4 oz at each feeding and I'm bottle feeding

    My 3 week old drinks 3oz she just started 3oz a few days ago.

    The way I got my daughter to go 4 hours through the day and 5 at night between feeds is by making her wait a few mins. So say she wants to feed every hour, i.make her wait 10mins then the next feed another 10mins till bubs learns the new routine. Obviously when they have growth spurts they will need more feedings but its good to have a routine too so its easier to tell when there is a problem.

    There's not a certain amount that they will take. My daughter was taking 3-4 oz at 2 weeks but some babies only take 2 oz. Babies eat until they're full. So just experiment and see how much your LO takes! Just make sure you burp him/her a lot or they will get a belly ache and keep sucking for comfort!
