I am worried sick about this, but my doctor wants me to have this done and Ultra screen and lab work for cystic fibrosis? Please let me know is this test worth. Me worrying?
I'm terrible st remembering the test names is that the one where they just take your blood if so then not much to worry about I can't remember the numbers but my Dr said very low
My Dr said I had to do the same thing at my 12 week appt. She said they were gonna test for Downs, neural tube defects, and spina bifida through blood test and ultrasound. I'm fine with them just taking blood, but I'm not letting them do anything other than that.
My Dr said 40 is the age they get concerned with. And hr gave Mr the option of taking the test I'm 23 and my last two pregnancy with a different Dr didn't give me a option. He told me its nothing to worry over. I wouldn't do the other genetic testing to many risks
For cf they should do a blood test on you and if you are a carrier then they test the dad, both of you have to be carriers for there to be a chance of passing on the cf genes. Only do what you are comfortable with. I did the cf screen because I do a lot of work for the cf foundation but chose not to do any others because I didn't want to spend my entire pregnancy worried about what could happen.
