Finally had jovani! updated with my birth story & pics
After being 1week+2days over due I finally got to meet my little one yesterday. He was 7lbs 2oz born via csection. Ill update with my birth story later...
so heres the story. tuesday i went in for my nst, u/s, and midwife appt. had my membranes stripped & set up to come back to the hospital the next night for induction. well a couple hours after my appt. i started getting contractions. decided to go walk around kmart & try to get them to pick up, which they did. around 830 we headed to the hospital but was only dilated to 1cm so they had me walk the halls. unfortunately that didn't do a thing so we got sent home. literally as soon as we were on our way home my contractions picked up to 2-3 minutes apart. i chilled at home for 30mins to an hour and said eff this and got back in the car to head to the hospital again. contractions were still about 2-3 minutes apart but i was still only dilated to 1cm but with my intense my contractions were they admitted me and started me on pitocin. 3am came around and my water broke! got checked...now i was 2cm. i stayed there contracting for a few hours with no progress until i begged them for an epi (i didn't want this in the first place but at this point with the contractions and no progress i was really discouraged and we all figured i'd end up in a csection anyways). got the epi around 830. i kept getting checked and my cervix was just not changing. at around 1230 the doctor came in and said it was probably best to go ahead with a csection because there was meconium in the fluid when my water broke & the babies heartbeat was slowing dropping. it wasn't an emergency though so i had to wait for the dr to deliver some babies then it'd be my turn. @ 3:26 pm my beautiful son jovani isaiah castillo came into this world. he weighed 7lbs 2ozs.
sad part is though, i don't remember a thing from delivery. the first time i remember seeing my son is in the recovery room where i was finally able to breastfeed him & even then i was heavily medicated & everything was a blur. either way though im just so happy to finally have him here! he is such a blessing... i could just stay up all night looking at him.
