cradle cap

Tips for removal? Its so sad looking he just scratched his head and it looks so bad. I think it is because he needs a bath too hasn't had one yet. Seems like it will brush right out with the soft brush.

  • I read to use baby oil on it and comb it out with a fine tooth baby comb.
  • My daughter who is now 4 yrs old had it really bad when she was a baby what I found that worked was babyoil. I would put it on her head every day & then use a baby comb to brush it through. I used everything & the babyoil worked the best.
  • I also use baby oil and then brush it out. It's almost all gone.
  • Baby oil and a soft toothbrush
  • Everyone is right about baby oil & soft brush but dr says make sure u wash the oil away because it could clog pores & make cradle crap worse!
  • there is a soap for it from gerber i believe it worked pretty well.
  • Wow I was just getting ready to search for a thread about this!! Lol crazy. Thanks for posting, I think my 5wk old has it . I used a medicated shampoo when my 1st two had it , but I'll try the oil.

  • Maybe a dumb ? but I thought cradle cap was when u keep baby on its back too much and they rub patches of their head bald and it gets irritated.

@kingsmama no lol cradle cap is when the scalp dries up and becomes scaly and flaky. it can get really bad!! Idk why infants get it though.
  • @mommyof3tobe ahh makes sense. Ty for clarifying :) I think my son has it very mildly and I thought it was just dandruff. I shall now bust out the oil for his lil head to be safe :) Ty.
