baby's first road trip?

edited October 2011 in Pregnant
I'm due November 6th and my boyfriends family wants to take me and baby Daya to Mexico on December 2nd. They say its about an 8 hour drive from where we live. If she's born on time she'll be about 3 weeks old. I'm not to sure about taking her out of the country would it be safe for her? And me if I'm about 3 weeks pp?

  • If it were me, I wouldn't go.
  • I wouldn't go out of the country either...my son's on his first "road trip" an hour away and he's 5 weeks old tomorrow.
  • My son will be 6 wks when we travel home to arizona from texas but I wouldn't go outta the country
  • I thought so I just want to stay locked up in my apartment for the first 6 weeks lol
  • I took my 2 wk old on an 8 hr road trip and she did perfectly fine! Its probably one of the easiest time to travel with them seeing how they mostly sleep.
  • I wouldnt
  • I took my 6 wk old on a roadtrip from NoDak to AZ & he did fine because all he did was sleep but of course we took our time going down & would stay at a hotel so he could stretch and lay down but of course its a 20+ hour roadtrip. Idk about going out of the country though?
  • i wouldnt take a baby out of the country yet maybe a 4 hr drive max but im taking my baby down to mo and im in il thats like 6 hrs but it depednds if you stop enough and take the baby out of the seat to keep the head from flatting or starting to good luck
  • I wouldn't especially to mexico its unsafe there right now all my fam is there n I would love to go but we r safer here

  • Wouldn't even consider it.
  • I won't even take my 8, 7, or 5 year olds out of the country. Let alone a newborn!
