Could I ask to get my membranes stripped?

I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow, I only want to ask because I have warts and if they're there when I go into labor and they don't have time to treat them I might have to get a csection :( I don't want to get them stripped for another week or two but I was thinking about asking my dr at my appointment on Tuesday about it.

    Get the warts taken care of and tell Dr you are thinking about it. It wouldn't hurt to ask. :)

    U can ask but usually docs wont until 38 39 weeks.

    @mama2be11_4_11 I think he's going to tell me no because I was measuring small last week :( at my growth scan my baby only weighed at 5lbs 14oz. Do you know if it's painful?

    @samantha I was hoping to get them frozen then get my membranes stripped a few days after, but I don't know if he will because I'm measuring small

    Getting your membranes stripped is very painful I got mine done today .

    @erikamrscollins ouch :( do they just run their fingers around? I've heard some people say it's really painful and others say it's not that bad. Have you had any contractions yet?

    i would get the warts removed and then ask.. if you want to have a natural birth.. good luck sweety.. when are you supposed to get them removed.. plus you dont want to be any more uncomfortable than you already are..

    Its pretty painful. I had no idea it wad going to hurt so I was shocked on top of it being painful. And if you're measuring small he may wait closer till you are 40 weeks. And they use their fingers.

    And maybe he can cut the warts off if freezing isn't working so you can have a natural birth.

    @lae3 I wanted to see if he would freeze them and then strip my membranes a few days later after they actually fall off and it doesn't hurt anymore. I haven't asked to get them removed yet, I'm going to at my appointment on Tuesday and he'll freeze them then

    @samantha they always fall off a few days after he freezes them but they always come back in a couple weeks, cutting them off sounds a lot more painful :(

    @pawgio it hurt me like hell n yes I've had a few n lost my mucous plug right after but its so painful I cried

    Well maybe after he does it you're so close to dd he might be able to do a strip after they fall off. So maybe next apt. But I wouldn't recommend doing it all at once because getting a strip is very uncomfortable and like @lae3 said you don't wanna be in more pain then needed at one time. My Dr also said to stay active after a strip because it helps.

    @samantha there's no way I would want to get it done the same day! I'm always really irritated after getting them frozen off, I'm a little scared they could come back before my next appointment though

    good luck sweety hope it goes how you want.. this is the most difficult part of preg.. the last few wks and ive been over it sinc about 34wks.. lol.. mabey even sooner..

    Ask him what his thoughts are on it. Maybe have them frozen off then go back a few days later to get the membrane strip. There's a cream you can use for the warts maybe the Dr can prescribe it to help you? Idk if its safe while pregnant
