So i'm being induced Thursday 10 days early b/c high bp & protein in the urine... Can't wait to meet my baby girl!!! Kinda nervous tho, only 2cm dilated & 70% effaced... Anyone wanna share their induction stories & how long it took?
I was induced for high BP as well right at 40 weeks. They had be start on cytotec. I was 2 cm and 30%. Total time from checking in to baby's birth was 13 hours.:) got my epidural at 4cm and 3 hours into active labor. Active labor was only 6 hours long. Never needed any Pitocin.
@Mrs4c Thnx, hope it doesn't take too long, still hoping she's born Thursday... Do u have to wait for the epidural till ur dilated enough? & how was the pain going 2-4?
I believe all drs have you wait untill at a 4 to get an epidural. I had mild cramping from 2-3, then the real pain was at 3-4. It was unbearable. My contractions came suddenly and were 2 minutes or less apart and lasting a minute, so basically very little to no break in between! I only could take them for 2 hours before asking for the epidural. But overall my induction was AMAZING!!! I had a tough pregnancy and labor was so easy in comparison! I loved it!
Oh I was also lucky and only had to push for like. 10 minutes! Most first time moms and births by induction have to push longer. My nurses said it's common to have to push for an hour!
@Mrs4c Dang, I'm sure it's gonna suck for a good while, but yeah...like u this pregnancy has not been good since about 22 weeks...so going through hell for a few hours for an epidural should be a breeze compared to the terrible past 16 weeks....still hoping my labor goes as nicely as yours tho!
