anyone? im having troubles.

edited November 2011 in Breastfeeding
Anyone having troubles waking up your new born every few hours to eat? I swear its impossible to wake her up, I've taken get clothes off, wiped her face with a wet wipe, played with her fingers and toes, kissed her face. I'm worried bc she sleeps a lot and if I can't find a way to wake her up she only eats every 4-5 hours OR MORE. please anyone who is going through the same? Or has?

  • After i left the hospital i nvr woke her up to feed her. Usually she would eat every 2 hrs but if she didnt i wasnt worried simply because babies will not let themselves starve! If they are hungry they will scream and fuss and get all kinds of crazy.
  • I haven't had my Lo yet, but I heard someone say that they "dream fed". Basically fed them while they slept so that they stay asleep. Idk though, bit this will bump u
  • My newborn was doing the same thing then all of a sudde lastnight she decided she was hungry and was up every hour wanting to eat!! As long as your getting your 3-4 wet diapers a day I wouldn't stress too badly.... I'm just hoping she hasn't lost any more weight when I take her in on Thursday!
  • My 3rd child did this. I never woke her. She didn't lose weight and had wet diapers so I didn't worry. She just preferred her sleep over eating. Now at 2 she eats all the Dang time.

    Thank you mamas! @newmama16 @romeike89 @essie @mama0811 @kailiasmomma05

I go on her demand. And didn't think it was an issue bc yes she pees and poops regularly. It's just the lactation consultant was saying how I need to feed her more and wake her up. Which is impossible.. I tried. Plus she looks like she's gained weight bc her wrinkled/loose skin from delivery the 27th has smoothed out a lot and become more firm.

  • @ashleyfew I believe the same. She's perfectly healthy.
