edited November 2011 in Breastfeeding
My nipples, mostly my left one itches a lot. It can be annoying soetimes when Im in public, otherwise, I just scratch it. lol

Anyone else? Is there a reason for this. It doesnt hurt or anything and I only breastfeed.

  • This may sound weird, but I dont care.. When its itching, I love when she latches cause its like... less work I have to do. It feels good in a relieving way, not a nasty way (AT ALL!) lol
  • With my mom and a couple of other woman I know, itchy nipples was a sign they had thrush.
  • Mine itch when my pad is wet. So I change to dry ones and it goes away
  • I've also read itchy nipples is a sign of thrush.
  • If its not thrush then its most likely your letdown reflex letting you know there is milk there ready for baby.
  • My nipples never itch but my actual boob does when she's feeding lol
  • I haven't had my lo yet but I've had itchy nipples off and on thru the entire pregnancy... drives me bonkers!
  • My doctor said it is from the baby sucking. My lo was sucking so vigorously that I had small bilsters (only one really noticeable looked like blood blister). They healed up and itchy went away.
